Anyone heard anything from USC? I applied there last month.
Have you heard anything yet? I haven't, but several individuals that I work with have rec'd emails for an interview at the end of May. If you don't mind me asking you the same question that you asked Ccipencil....What kind of experience do you have? GPA? Scores?
My app still says decision pending. So I assume that's good, I didn't submit till late March.
2yrs Adult ICU, almost 1 yr Peds CICU. Two Bachelors. GRE 305. GPA 3.4 last 60?? ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CCRN, CMC.
Not great but hoping it gets me something.

Don't be so down on yourself! Those are good credentials. It is just a super competitive area.
I only have a little over a years experience in CCU, but I have a total of 13 years nursing experience with 8 of those as a supervisor in one of the busiest L&D units around. 2 Bachelors of Science degrees, GRE--only 300 . GPA 3.5 overall-- ACLS, PALS, NRP,
30+ hours shadowing experience in multiple areas and specialities
To take CCRN at beginning of May

Hey Ccipenil,
Sorry about your interview, could you care to elaborate? Was it just hard? I just started looking into schools and was planning to apply to to USC next year but stumbled upon this topic and wondering if I still should if the interviews gonna be wonky and I'll get shut down. Should I focus my efforts elsewhere?
To be honest I didn't prepare because I accepted a position at another school. I went to the interview bc I knew it was tough and wanted to prepare myself for my interview with my #1 school in a month.
They do 2 30 min interviews. Each room has 4-5 people. The room with Richard from Greenville's campus was absolutely bone crushing. They gave me an abg: 7.31/49/28/-2 I told them what I thought the vent changes should be and then they ask what would I do if I couldn't change any vent setting. The had a list of drugs on the white board and told me to pick one out and explain but they wanted to know how it worked at the micro level and were asking me which receptor sites the drugs affects. I was asked about nitric oxide therapy because it was on my resume, I had used it a couple of times years ago, they wanted to know how it worked at the micro level. They asked some crazy ass question about crrt. I remember saying I don't know a lot.
The other room questioned my c's from nursing school 10 years ago. Keep in mind my adn was in 2006 GPA 2.8, BSN 2014 GPA 3.5
I have had several interviews with other schools and this one was by far the absolute worst. They said 100 people apply, they interview about 60 people for 30 spots.
