Has anyone else applied for the fall 2024 program at University of South Alabama and have you heard anything yet?!

I'm going to be holding my breath until I see an email about admission status! I have a 1.5 year old, and we're planning to have a second either next year (if I don't get in) or at the end of the program 😅 I work per diem at two different places, one does 12hr shifts and the other does 8. I plan on working full time hours until clinical takes over my life, then eventually have to drop my hours to PT. Like you, I also have bills to pay so we can't afford for me to stop working completely. I'm aiming for PNP, so I'm a little stressed when it comes to finding multiple clinical sites!

That's a good set up with the two PRN jobs and can just back off the hours. Thanks for sharing, it's nice to hear others situations and how they plan to pivot and get some ideas. I feel you on the clinical sites! It's a good thing to have to lock them in by the end of the first semester but I will legit have to talk to people and be like hey, will you precept me but I won't start until like, two years from now (for the ACNP portion) so I hope they maybe let us wait on the second portion until it's closer 😂 it feels ridiculous to ask that now. If I get in of course, all this worry could be for naught LOL.

Right!? I was kind of sketched because so many programs have a deadline months and months in advance, sometimes even a year and this is like HEY YOU'RE IN NOW START. Hoping this week!

I agree! I'm praying we hear back by Friday so I can start planning "ahead" as best as possible.

I applied as well for the July 1st deadline. I have been stalking my email. Hopefully this week brings good news for us all.

The anticipation is killing me! I'm just praying we don't actually have to wait 8 weeks!

Yes I'm nervous cause I didn't have the best GPA going in due to grades from when I first started college. Classes that had nothing to do with nursing. Did you use references on your goal statement?

I completely relate. I didn't have the best GPA from my first degree (3.1), but I did an ABSN program and did significantly better so I'm hoping they weigh my nursing coursework more heavily. I did use 3 references in my statement.

I did not use any references 😩. Examples of goal statements I read did not have any.

I think you're OK! They just wanted it formatted correctly like a title page, header, if you did use references using in text and reference page correctly. My fricken computer reformatted and moved the header page numbers to the left instead of right. I was like awesome, I look goofy. If that's the make or break though, I got problems LOL and def better not have to take the writing class just for that.

I also think you're okay! I think they're more concerned about the APA format. By including references, I definitely upped my chances of making APA errors🤦🏻‍♀️

IDK if you guys have seen this and I don't know how accurate it is but everything else on it is accurate.

I also talked to (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME - PLEASE DO NOT POST IDENTIFYING INFORMATION OF THOSE IN YOUR PROGRAM) several months back and asked how many seats there are, how many applicants, average stats of accepted students and....I don't want to get all our hopes up but I stg this is what she wrote back

"We go by their current work experience, education and GPA requirement. The faculty is based on how many seats are available.

We do accept most of our students at this time as long as the meet all of the above.”

That last line 😅😅😅😅

Oh gosh! I just don't know what to think. I wonder how many applicants each NP track gets... guess all we can do now is wait! Good luck everyone 🤞

I had emailed (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME - PLEASE DO NOT POST IDENTIFYING INFORMATION OF THOSE IN YOUR PROGRAM) a couple of questions and she assumed me we will hear back by the end of this week!!
