University of South Alabama Summer FNP 2018 applicants

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello fellow nurses, just wondering how many people applied, have finished their application, STILL WORKING ON IT, ETC. I'm waiting on my transcripts to get verified before I start the supplemental application. My G.P.A. is 3.38. I'm wondering if anyone has heard about the average G.P.A. acceptance and just overall reputation of the school.

Hmm on fb where the friend request is, it is grayed out... go to your fb messages, and see if it will let you add me as a friend, and i'll start working on the fb group. :)

Okay friends! I created the fb group! Group name: University of South Alabama FNP/MSN Summer 2018 Cohort. I made it a closed group (anyone can search for it, but only members can see posts), but if anyone has trouble finding or accessing, just let me know, and i'll make it public... :) My name is Lauren Green (FYI)

I called castle branch and they told me it was ok to leave it blank on the time selection. They said all the updates for summer 2018 have been applied.

Thank you for creating the FB page....but I can't find it? Helpí ½í¸€

is it the msn/fnp 2020 class?

Does anyone know when we will get a copy of the degree plan?

Hello! I too have been accepted to the FNP summer 2018 program but all I can find is the class of 2020 Facebook page. Is that the correct one? I'm thinking not because there is a post on it requesting a clinical site already. Please help!

Can anyone tell me what your GPA was? Work experience? Supplemental documents? Certifications? Letters of recommendation? I'm applying to USA for Spring 2019. Any information is greatly appreciated!

@kfugarino Hi! My overall GPA was on the lower side .. 3.3 from a previous degree I didn't take seriously, however my nursing degree GPA was a 3.6, and my science GPA was a 4.0. If i remember correctly they also look at your last __ hours, can't remember the exact number. My background is majority in the ICU.. have been there x 3 years. I worked in step-down at first when I was a new grad, then transferred to the unit. I also have worked as a clinical instructor a little over a year. Certifications pretty basic.. just ACLS, BLS, PALS.. I was about to start working on the CCRN, but was accepted, and I want to take the study time for school.

For me with my overall GPA being on the lower side, I made sure my essay was top-notch, and worked on my experience (moved into the charge nurse position a little less than a year before applying, and started as a clinical instructor) to make me look more well rounded.

This is just my thoughts..but if you have >3.5, I would think you would be fine, but if you have a lower GPA, just work on boosting your experience, have extra certifications, and write an excellent essay... or if you really need to increase your GPA, I know certain schools have a "non degree" option, and you can take some grad classes to boost your GPA.. I think advanced pharm and advanced patho will transfer to USA but just check. That was going to be my back up plan if I didn't get accepted.

Hope this helps and good luck! :)

Did you ever find the group? I want to join! Can someone please let me know if there has been a group started for the summer FNP 2018 or graduating 2020 class???? Thanks!

Hey guys, I wanted to know how the program is? I was looking for reviews for this program. I was going to apply for the January start date. I’m having trouble finding reviews.

Thanks a million

Hey everyone. I am applying to USA for Fall of 2019. My overall GPA per NursingCAS was a 3.25. I have 6 years of ED and ICU experience. I am wondering if anyone got in with a GPA close, or similar to this? I was also told no essay or references to admission committee??? I am doing the RN to BSN/MSN track. Hope to hear back from someone.
