University of South Alabama Summer FNP 2018 applicants

Nursing Students School Programs

Hello fellow nurses, just wondering how many people applied, have finished their application, STILL WORKING ON IT, ETC. I'm waiting on my transcripts to get verified before I start the supplemental application. My G.P.A. is 3.38. I'm wondering if anyone has heard about the average G.P.A. acceptance and just overall reputation of the school.

Hello I applied a few years ago to the dual role and was not accepted. Reapplying now with a 3.04 overall gpa. I have a actual higher gpa from nursing school and undergrad but they count ALL grades. Even from over 15 years ago. Boo

I'm currently in process of applying to the WHNP option! I'm so nervous/excited at the same time! Fingers crossed!!

So if I took 2 graduate courses and earned a 4.0 GPA, and my Undergrad GPA is 3.38, they combine both GPA's together, instead of just counting the nursing GPA?

BTW I emailed the Graduate nursing admission's at USA asking about the average GPA accepted for last Spring class and was tole it was a 3.5 GPA. But I am keeping my fingers crossed. Good Luck to you all

Yes Good Luck Never Never. How long did it take for your application status to be changed from complete to verified? I am nervous about making the deadline for Summer Admission by NOV 15, I still have to complete the supplemental application

Good luck to you too! I'm still waiting on that but I'm a little confused in that process at the moment now that you mention it. I submitted my transcripts all last month and everything else except the supplemental part is completed. I'm not sure how long it is supposed to take for the status to change? I'll try following up with them tomorrow for a better answer!

Yes, I believe they add all college courses for the cumulative GPA. Were you able to find where they calculated your overall GPA to fall in Nursing CAS? Cause I'm trying to figure out mine. The website is confusing!

I know several people who attended the program for different specialities. My understanding is that it's a solid program.. but very much self instructed being online and DIY in terms of finding clinical sites.

I finally got my application verified and completed the supplemental application. Since I made 2 A's in the graduate courses I took, Nursing Cas calculated my overall GPA 3.43, which is better, but I am still nervous it is not high enough. I am certified in PALS, ACLS, MEDSURG, AND Ambulatory Care Nursing so hopefully that counts for something. you will be able to view your overall gap once your application status is verified under the check status tab, then download pdf application. Yes you should call them. I waited over a month, and had transcripts sent multiple times and found out that my transcript were not matched correctly due to the fact that my name had an apostrophe in one transcript and not on my Nursing Cas profile, they were able to complete my application and within a week my transcripts were verified.

I am a bit nervous about juggling work full-time and school full-time. I am active duty military so I have no choice but to work full-time. I may attend school part-time if I am accepted

Thank you for the update. Now my app says "In Progress"...hopefully it changes very soon. I'll follow up with them tomorrow. Your GPA is good with the experience that you listed. I think that will be valuable to you. Are you applying anywhere else? I think working full-time is probably doable until clinical begins, then maybe go part time. That's my plan. :)
