Has anyone applied to University of South Alabama online MSN-FNP program for summer or fall 2011?
Melody, I think you have a good chance! I don't start the program until May 31. A girl I work with is in the family practice NP program now and is very happy with it. I know it's a lot of work and you really have to be self motivated, but I don't mind that.
I'm glad to hear there is a need for NPs in your area. All that talk about an excess was making me nervous.
Are you planning to apply for fall? I think the deadline is in early April.
Millie T, I will be applying for the Spring 2012 semester. My BSN conferral date is April 15, so I will miss the Fall deadline which is April 1. That is ok for me since I just had back surgery in Dec 2010. It will give me more time to heal. Congrats on you getting in! What major are you doing?
I applied to USA FNP program and did not get accepted. Got the letter today. Kinda sucks, but it aint the end of the world lol.. My gpa was low- like 3.1.. My experience in nursing has been ER/trauma, critical care, and nurse management. Maybe next time? Or maybe ill need to find another program? lol

Millie T, I live in Central Florida (outside Tampa). I have no problem traveling to Mobile, Al when needed. We are used to travel! My husband and I usually leave home 5-10 times per year! The need for NP's in my area is in high demand. The only Ambulatory care experience I have is Occupational Health at my former job. Do you think this would be acceptable? How do you like the program?
