Sorry you didn't get in Lateshia. Sounds like you have a good combo of experience and GPA. My GPA was very close, but I've already taken the whole first year of my MSN before at South and had gotten all A's. It was too many yrs ago to count though so I have to start over. I think my having done this gave me an advantage.
I would think it would be worth reapplying. Have you tried other schools too? I considered UAB also.
Hugs to you.

If you go to the website, click on admissions and click check you application status it will show the up to date status (i.e received, pending, in department for review, accepted, etc). I was following that process and know my acceptance status(for the ENP program) about 3 days before I got the letter. Best of luck.
Florida2011, where in Fl do you live? I am thinking about USA FNP program. I live in the Tampabay area. I see that Tampa General and James A Haley VA medical center are preceptor sites! Do you think my stats would get me in? GPA 3.65, 10 years of LPN and 4 years of RN experience. I worked in every dept in the hospital but ICU and ER. (I am a float nurse). Thanks ahead for your reply!
Hi Melody, I work in Pensacola, but live in AL. Your stats and experience sound great, I would definitely try to apply. They do require you actually go to class the first 2-3 days of each semester. I don't know if that would be every semester though. The travel could add up for you if you had to fly in.
One thing they did tell me that they like to see is ambulatory care experience. I took this to mean urgent care, ER or doctor's office. I have a few yrs of pediatric clinic experience, but not at an urgent care level.
Check your area for need and pay. Some of this board say that So. Florida is saturated with NPs and that the pay is extraordinarily low. I have no idea if that is true or not. Pensacola still has quite a few NP openings and pays well.
Good Luck to you!!!

Has anyone applied to University of South Alabama online MSN-FNP program for summer or fall 2011?
