University of San Francisco Fall 2018 Applicants

Hello everyone!

I wanted to start a forum for those who applied to University of San Francisco BSN nursing fall 2018. I just finished my application and submitted all my documentation last week. I am very nervous but extreamly excited to find out if I am accepted. USF is my dream school. Let's stick together in this as we anticipate our answers!

My statistics:

Transfer student from Diablo Valley College

3.55 pre-req GPA

3.75 overall (76 credits)

150 hours volunteer service at John Muir Center for Recovery

50 hours volunteer service at Northbrook nursing home

Phi Theta Kappa honor society member

Alpha Gamma Sigma honor society member

4-H member 13 years

My personal statement was a creative short story of my first experience with community service at age 8 and my care for a family member after they had a severe stroke.

I do not, I just have my two college transcripts checked off on my checklist.

I just have my transcripts as well! I called them on Monday and they said we should all know our decision by mid-May

Hey everyone. So I just got off the phone with operations department and was told the process of decisions. The admission counselor makes a decision to accept or reject and will update the portal stating that a decision has been made and a letter will be sent out. In a couple of days after that the letter will be updated into the portal. The deadline to accept for transfer students is June first, and he said that letters will be going out until that date. They are going out in cycles, and he is not sure if the cycle is random or not. He also stated that letters are usually sent out on Thursday's and Friday's. Out of all the previous forums for USF applicants, I have never seen it take this long. I'm really hoping we'll here soon. Keep hanging in there everyone!

Im not sure if it will help but on my decision letter it stated that we needed to accept and pay for our spot by May 15. Maybe after that day they will see how many spots are left and decide from there? Also when I went to the school the councilor was telling me that they are putting transcripts in by hand for those who accepted and that they are low on staff due to 3 family emergencies. It may be taking a while because they are understaffed!
