Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Has anyone else applied for USFca BSN program for spring? Applications were due on the 15th. I'm a transfer student and know there aren't many spots but I told myself I'd apply to all programs in the area no matter what! Good luck to everyone that applied and I hope to be in the program with you!

I was reading through old posts of yours and it seemed like you still had some pre req left to be completed (anatomy, physiology, and micro) and you were admitted? Also do you mind sharing your your stats during the process? :)thank you so much!

Yeah! So I was at a CC as a psych major and this past fall (2015), right before app season began, I decided I wanted to switch to nursing. A rep from USF happened to come to my school around that time for a college fair and she told me I could apply and start this spring (Jan 16), even though I didn't have the science prereqs (to my surprise!). Apparently it's not that uncommon...I know quite a few people who got admitted to USF's nursing program and still need to complete all or some of the science prereqs. As far as stats, I had a 3.9GPA and a lot of extracurriculars (research internship, volunteer (hospital), military experience). But it really goes across the board...people have all sorts of GPAs and extracurriculars. I think your personal statement also has a big impact on your application! Good luck :)
