Has anyone else applied to USD MEPN program for Spring 2026? I believe this is the first time they are doing a Spring cohort!

Haven't heard back yet.

How did you guys feel about your applications? I'm worried my essays weren't personal enough 😛

I feel like I did good in the personal essay. I was more worried about my grades not being straight A's. Are any of you MA/CNA?

I'm a veteran, no medical background. Also have a B in Physio, microbio in progress so you're not alone as far as grades. I was told personal statement and interview are weighed heavily to ensure they have the right candidate as a person vs paper. Hope this helps!

I think you'll be okay without the medical experience. I am on the waitlist for the Fall 2025 cohort and hope to have my application considered for Spring if I don't get chosen from the waitlist. Many of the people I met during interviews had no healthcare experience. I have A's in the prereqs, but my overall GPA could be better. I currently work as a clinical clerk in primary care.

That's good to hear! I don't have medical experience, I feel good about my essays BUT a few of the pre reqs I took in 2017 therefore are not A's... keeping my fingers crossed my passion showed through enough and my more recent grades outshine my past grades. I wish we had a better estimate of average cohorts grades, and average students that apply to know where my application stands.

Good luck to you! I hope you get into Fall! Any word on a timeline for the waitlist ? I feel most people should have committed already. How was your interview process? Any tips to the rest of us?

I think the biggest tip I can give for everyone is to be yourself! It's definitely nerve wracking cause the interviews are grouped but you'll be separated each group will hv 4 interviewees & 2 or 1 interviewer. All of the interviewers I had were so nice & understanding of everyone being anxious/nervous which is nice. I would also suggest to make a closing statement at your very last interview when the interviewer asks if u hv any comments/questions you'd like to add, I feel like it makes a good lasting impression on them. The overall process wasn't too bad but there were about 98 interviewees who showed up & only 40 spots being offered in the cohort so there's that 🥲🫠

Thank you for this!! I'm surprised the interviews were grouped. Do you remember the types of questions they were asking, or was it pretty generic?

Yeah, I mean, they weren't too wild or anything. One question I can remember being asked was, "What does integrity mean to you?" They also ask questions to gauge how well you handle stress, etc... I am happy to answer any other questions since I interviewed pretty recently. I don't think they changed the process much because I had asked a current student for tips to help me prep, which sounded like the same process.

Thanks for sharing all the feedback! I hope we all hear back really soon. I had heard that the previous cohort were notified just shy of 2 weeks from their interview date. I am hoping it's sooner. It would definitely help with those of us who have to travel far.

Wow thank you so much for helping out with the interview questions! That is great to know. I am surprised it's typical to only know 2 weeks out... I will also be flying from out of the country if selected LOL so that makes it tricky. Does anyone know how long after interviews we hear final decisions?

They'll tell you at the interviews if you ask. For the fall interviews, they were held on 1/31 we were notified by 2/20. But if you ask they'll definitely tell you!
