University of San Diego MEPN 2018

Hi! Just wondering who is applying to the Fall 2018 cohort!

I accepted the invite and did not get a confirmation email either.

I take that back - just got a confirmation!

Hi all! I'm a 1st year MEPN student and just wanted to say good luck with the application process!!! Feel free to ask any questions you might have :)

Hello! Do you mind talking a little bit about the financial aid, scholarships, or any info on how students fund this program?

Got an email for interviews as well! I am so stoked :)

Hello everyone! I also got an interview! I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to prepare for an entry level MSN interview? Does anyone know if the interview will have scenario base questions? Sorry you guys I just get really nervous when it comes to interviews >___

Hi everyone! I see that a lot of people are getting interviews and I figured now would be a great time to ask. I am looking into applying to USD for the MEPN as I would like to move back to San Diego. I graduate college and finish my undergrad in June 2018. Can anyone give me their stats on GPA and type of experience, so I can gauge myself for the competition of the next cycle in Fall? I know you all got interview and nobody is in yet, but an interview must be something!! Thank you:)

@courtm

Hey! I graduated from Northwestern with a 3.6, my pre req GPA was 3.9. I had about 100 hours of hospital volunteer hours. A HUGE thing that Would have helped me in applications is more clinical experience, I think. So I would definitely try and get your CNA or MA license and start working while you wait :)

Would you mind sharing what you know about financial aid packages and awards offered by USD to students in the program? How are people mostly paying for this program?

Hi everyone! I'm currently a first year in the program.

For those concerned about the tuition, you apply for fafsa and they will generally give loans for the full amount. I also received a small grant from USD but I am not sure if everyone receives this. It is a pricey tuition but the starting salary of an RN is pretty good as well and I haven't heard of anyone having trouble paying back the loans once they are finished with the program. Hope that helps!

Good luck to everyone who got an interview!

I ended up dropping out of the interview because I was accepted at UC Davis. Waiting to hear from UCLA as well, but all in all, I want to be at a UC as my first choice! GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

Congrats to UC Davis!!!!!
