University of Rochester - ABPNN Fall 2013

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hi, just thought I'd start a thread for University of Rochester's ABPNN Fall 2013 applicants...

AlmondB10, if you don't mind...what kind of questions were you asked during the interview?

Thank you!

Nermface - I did ask and she said decisions won't be released until mid to late May at the very earliest. Kind of a bummer.

Mcdonalk - I'm not comfortable telling you what questions were asking during the interview - hope you understand. My suggestion is to prepare for a few traditional job interview questions and also be prepared to discuss your goals and academic/professional history. I wouldn't worry too much. I felt very relaxed during the interview (and I tend to feel nervous during interviews). I found it helpful to keep in mind that I was also interviewing them in order to learn if their program is the right fit for me.

Hey all,

Did you submit for fall 2013 and already interviewed? I thought the deadline was March 1 so I am curious as to when you submitted your application (if you don't mind sharing).

Hey there, hopefulxo... I applied sometime at the beginning of January. I had actually called early last week because they had finally received my letters of rec. Anyway, I wanted to ask them what the next steps were, and ********* told me that they would be contacting applicants at the beginning of March for interviews. I actually received my call at the end of last week to schedule my interview.

Oh that makes sense! Thank you! I sent in my supplemental things today and was told it would arrive Monday.

AlmondB10- Not a problem at all. I completely understand! Thank you for the advice! I really appreciate it!

Hello prospects! I just submitted all of my documents not too long ago and was informed that I would be contacted for an interview. Im glad you started a thread. What other schools has everyone applied to? I am applying to Rochester, Marymount University, South Florida and Wayne State. Fingers crossed for Rochester! I am 24 years old and from Canada. I have only heard and read great things about Rochester and hope I am selected out of the 300ish applicants! Good Luck to everyone!

When did you submit your documents? Also, how long did it take for your documents to be updated online (to show they received everything)? Thanks!

Hopefulxo, it took no more than a day for my documents to be updated online...however, I sent everything in advanced.

My transcripts are updated, but I know my things won't arrive until Monday (according to online). I will give a call Wednesday if nothing changes. Thank you!

Hi everybody! Just thought I'd drop by and meet you all. I'm from Chicago and applied to the Rochester ABPNN program a few weeks ago. I have an interview next week and am a bit nervous. Does everyone get an interview who applies to the program? I looked online and it said they did not interview everybody but sounds like you all are getting the opposite response?

Good luck to all!

Hey, congrats on the interview! You'll do fine. Based on what everyone's been saying/what I've read, the interviews are very relaxed. I have mine this Friday, and I'm so thrilled.

As far as interviews, I read various things, but it seems like they are not interviewing every applicant. I could double check this Friday ^^
