Did anyone else apply by the Feb 15 priority deadline for Pitt? Looking at previous years it seems like they usually send out interview invites this week so here's hoping! :)

No I didn't get that feeling. They are only interviewing 80 people, way more than that apply so they already looked through. I think he was getting at certain people the interview is just the finality on admitting them and in 3 weeks they will be called. The rest I think will be more holistic approach.

Was the priority interview for people that live in PA? Or for all applicants?

Didn't seem to have a geographical focus although several people were from PA

I got the feeling that none of them are well acquainted with our applications yet aside from some select stats they pulled from applications to choose the top 40 with 20 getting interviewed yesterday and the next 20 getting interviews in April with first round offers going out shortly after that. The guy told me on the phone they had record numbers for applications this deadline and JOD said "it's good for you that you made the first cut" so if you were one of the 20 that interviewed yesterday you probably have a good chance. Also the names were from A-Z so it's not like this 20 was the first half and the next 20 are the second half; interviewees yesterday are likely the top 20 of the first application deadline based on whatever metric they use to rank before they do their "holistic application review"

It was honestly pretty refreshing to be interviewed that way — I feel like I was able to just be my organic self more than if they had my resume in front of them, IDK. Don't have a lot to compare it to. But hopefully you're right and it'll work out.

I agree. I felt like the interview was so personal. I got waitlisted at BC and I felt like they were so impersonal and cold. UPitt felt so welcoming and warm like they want to get to know you

I thought the interview went well and liked the style as well. Felt like they assumed you are qualified on paper but they just want to get to know you. I felt like the faculty viewed us more as colleagues they are trying to teach rather than peasants begging for the scraps. This is my first application anywhere so not a lot to compare to

Couldn't agree more. I had a terrible interview experience at another school that lead me to take a whole year off from applying and rethink if CRNA was for me. I'm grateful I decided to try again and it was with them bec they were so warm and welcoming! Crossing my fingers for all of us to get in ?

Has anyone who applied hear they did not get an interview/rejected? Also applied for the priority deadline but have not heard anything yet either way.

If it helps they said they're continuing to review applicants and will invite a total of 80 people for the April, May, and June interview dates. So I suppose until they fill the June date it's not over until it's over.

Hi, only a few people we interviewed earlier on. Most of the applications will be hearing from them soon. They said that most people will be hearing back from them before may for sure.
