University of Pittsburgh CRNA 2024

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Did anyone else apply by the Feb 15 priority deadline for Pitt? Looking at previous years it seems like they usually send out interview invites this week so here's hoping! :)

The part-time is a conditional acceptance where if you take a set number of DNP core/non-anesthesia credits throughout 2024 (and presumably meet a minimum GPA) you will be admitted with the full-time class in Jan 2025 without needing to reapply.

It also functions in place of a waitlist -- if someone gives up their full time spot before this January, someone on the part time list can be offered a full time spot.

Anyone with an idea of whether they'll extend all the full-time spots first is completely guessing/going off of last year's patterns

New day! And they love Tuesdays and Thursdays

Any people in the chat here who have received the call considering other schools and may turn down Pitt's call?

I haven't applied but does anyone know if they require a graduate level stats class? The website only says the BSN to DNP requires a stat class with a B or better. No mention of it needing to be a undergraduate or graduate level.

undergrad

Hello,

would someone that is familiar with the application process let me know the GPA that they factor into the point system? Science, cumulative, Last 60, nursing GPA? I tried to access their application online but it's not open to view.

Thank you so much.

Also, I see that the GRE is optional. But, do you think it is an unspoken expectation to take it? My cumulative undergrad GPA is 3.6, so I'm barely above the 3.5 average, but my science+Statistics class GPA is a 4.0. I was hoping I can prove my academic strength through my science/math GPA and taking my CCRN. But, if taking my GRE is necessary to show "competitiveness", I will do what it takes..I just don't want to spend time on studying for that test if you guys feel its not necessary in my scenario, because I'd love to spend that extra time working on community and leadership experience. Any advice/thoughts on this is very appreciated.

From what I have heard and read from previous posts, they base the GPA which conferred your BSN. GRE is great to have especially if you get above 300. Get the CCRN, anything you can do to standout as a candidate will increase your chances.
