What Members Are Saying (AI-Generated Summary)

Members are discussing starting their program in 2025 or 2026, housing options, course schedules, tuition costs, dress codes, and Facebook groups for their cohort. Some users were initially rejected but later accepted due to an increase in student intake. There is also confusion about the Facebook group for the class of 2027 and questions about enrollment procedures.

Hello, is anyone applying to University of Pittsburgh's CRNA program for Spring 2025?

Has anyone been contacted with a 929 area code number last Friday? I thought I was being weird and it was probably a scam.

That's nyc area code, so I doubt it was from Pitt

Jeez really? How many seats will they have in the program? Yeah they are doing morning and evening for the virtual. Then on the 28th theres another interview, it's in person!

So when I interviewed (may 31), they told us they were going to interview a total of 160. I think they received a total of 400 (ish) applications this year.

They said they would call at the start of June to offer the top 20 seats and then after final interviews call to offer the remaining 24. (44 seats total) They said it's based off a point system they use but didn't specify how things were weighted and what things were assigned point values. They did mention overall GPA and science GPA but that was it.

Didn't they also say 10-20 part time spots?

Yes. They said last year a few people who accepted full time ended up rescinding their acceptance so they pulled from the part time to fill those spots

I read in a previous post that they consider only your BSN GPA. I had a virtual interview in May and was informed that they will be interviewing 160 candidates for 44 full-time slots and 10-20 part-time slots. I'm not sure how they decide who gets accepted, but fingers crossed. It appears that those interviewed have strong stats and may have acceptances elsewhere. Hopefully, this works out in our favor.

Just curious to know where in your Nursing CAS does it give your calculated GPA and also what are quality points on it.

Can someone explain the part time slots?

Pitt doesn't have a wait list, so if you are accepted part-time you will begin taking DNP classes, but not anesthesia classes. They may pull some students from part-time to full-time if space allows. You would not officially start in Jan 2025, but with the Jan 2026 cohort. There would be no additional application/interviews. You are guaranteed a spot as long as you complete the classes in good standing.
