Members are discussing starting their program in 2025 or 2026, housing options, course schedules, tuition costs, dress codes, and Facebook groups for their cohort. Some users were initially rejected but later accepted due to an increase in student intake. There is also confusion about the Facebook group for the class of 2027 and questions about enrollment procedures.
Hello, is anyone applying to University of Pittsburgh's CRNA program for Spring 2025?
Hi guys, also chiming in highly frustrated. 5+ years all ICU. CCRN, precept, charge, rapid response, stroke team, committees and AACN member. I have volunteered, shadowed and did not graduate from Pitt. Have a 3.7 undergrad GPA. Shocked I was not at least offered an interview. Im thinking I'll have to apply elsewhere.Â
Â
I know of several people who have gone to Pitt for CRNA, or at least interviewed, who did not even have CCRN, precepting, charge experience etc. The personal statement must be a huge factor and mine probably sucks. Unfortunate bc they suggest you should do all these extra things to be considered and still consider other applicants regardless of meeting those expectations.Â

Yeah I think they just interview people from the area. California is also knows to do thisÂ
I am from about 4 hours away from Pittsburgh. Interviewed on March 28th. Have 2 years of pediatric cardiac ICU experience at time of application in a major children's hospital. Prior to becoming a nurse, I did 3 years of academic research at top medical schools with a pub in Nature on addiction and drug seeking behavior. Rodent surgical and anesthesia experience. Biology degree from liberal arts college and nursing degree. 3.99 GPA from UPENN. No charge experience, just resource nurse and preceptor experience. CCRN. A few days of shadowing. Started a journal club. Nothing too out of the ordinary.Â

I feel the same way. My personal letter must have been garbage. I thought I would get at least an interview given my strong grades and work experience/involvement. Too many dang strong applicants! Oh well, que sera, sera!
