University of Pennsylvania Master's in Nursing (MSN/ MPN) - 2025

Published

Hi everyone, I created a group for UPenn's MPN/MSN program. Good luck!

I received my acceptance letter for Penn's FT PMHNP program. Very excited!

Has anyone been notified yet about the Amy Gutmann Leadership Scholars Program? Penn's email last week said "If you are chosen as a recipient of this award, you will be notified next week."

Did anyone hear about this yet? I know they updated that the decisions would come out today

I have not heard anything yet for the Amy Guntmann Scholarship!  Probably any moment now people will be notified.

I would say by 5 PM they would probably send it

Would we be notified even if we didn't receive the scholarship?

Haven't heard anything yet. I think only the the recipients would be notified so losing hope 😞

Is there a Facebook page where admits can chat?

That would be great. Maybe we can set one up.

Hello! I'm just wondering, for those who have been accepted - have any of you also applied to Boston College and was accepted for their direct-entry MSN/NP Program? I'm having a hard time debating which one of the two to attend now after doing some more thinking. Would love to hear some thoughts if in a similar boat. Thank you! 🙂

Congratulations on your admission to BC, a great university. If you're comparing the BC program to the Penn MNP, however, I think you have an easy choice. Both are private schools, so tuition is high in both places. However, the difference in reputation and ranking for nursing is quite significant. BC is a top 30 school, and Penn is a top 3. This is most salient in research: Penn gets $15m annually in NIH research grants, whereas BC pulls in $3m.    Research is just one metric, but it's an important one for top-tier schools. In my opinion, unless Boston (as a city) has a particular appeal based on institutional metrics, Penn is an obvious choice.

Here, I made one: https://www.facebook.com/groups/961282206145719/

@Patrick Spaulding Ryan Thank you so much for taking the time out and providing your perspective! Those are certainly points I've considered. I think one of my main considerations was family life in Philly. Many folks have mentioned that Boston would be a better city to live in and explore compared to Philly. So for me, it's mostly family life vs academics purely. Thank you again.
