Hi!

I applied for the accelerated nursing program at University of Oklahoma in San Diego for fall 09 and I am anxiously waiting for the results. Does anybody know when they will notify the applicants?

Thanks!

Roushel

We should definitely keep in touch! Check your email for info on orientation! My computer is so old I have to buy a new one to meet the specs they gave us at the information session. Does your computer meet the requirements?

Do you think you'll work during the program?

I know, I got so excited when I saw you got in! :D Wow, your baby girl is 1, where does the time go?!

Advice:

1) Go on vacation before you start!!!

2) Get organized right away.

3) Be flexible. There will be schedule changes, and frustration at times but if you can't change it, then accept it.

4) Read the text! I have done well because I read!!

5) Impress your clinical instructors from your first encounter (know your meds/side effects, patho) and you will have an awesome semester, with an instructor that trusts you.

6) Know it won't all "click" until 4th semester (or after!) so don't worry if you don't get the "whole picture" right away.

Best of luck to you! PM me if you have questions!

P.S. I am graduating exactly three weeks from today! :yeah:

Hi wannabe,

Thanks so much for your help. It definitely helps to know that someone has gone through all the waiting, the-not-being-sure-whats-happening, the anxiety attacks (like we are experiencing) and finishing the program!

So, like the anxious student that I am, I want to get a head start in reading texts. What can you suggest that I (and the others who are interested) start reading on? Should we be reading about Nursing theories and models or Health Assessments? I have my Physiology book, so I am brushing up on that. I dont have any medical background and I dont want to step into the program with zero knowledge about nursing.

Thanks so much!
