Hello !

Is any one applying for this fall 2020 Cohort? OC location the deadline is April 15th 2020.

@teelovely I also applied to the OC campus! Super stoked I found this thread since I figured people would start posting after the deadline! Hope we both get in!! ?

@GratefulFutureNurse that’s awesome I’m glad you applied. I'm submitting my application right now as we speak! Yes, I’m sure people will post after the deadline. I’m sure we will both get accepted. Fingers are crossed! We should hear back from USF in June.

@teelovely Good luck with submitting it! I submitted it on 3/27/20 at 5:55 since ya gurl can be a little superstitious, haha ? But, yes, we'll definitely get in!

I also applied! Does anyone know the size of the cohort? From what I recall, I think it’s 25 but if I’m wrong, please clarify! I wonder what the average number of applicants there are, specifically for the fall oc cohort

That’s Great! Good luck, I’m sure you will get in. Yes, I also read that the fall cohort is 25 for the OC location. USF-San Francisco cohort is 25-26 as well.

@GratefulFutureNurse Thank you I was able to submit my application last night. So now it’s the waiting game. LOL that’s okay being superstitious! I changed my screen name too it was originally ‘Terri Lovely’. I need to speak nursing into existence!!!

Is USF-OC your top choice ?

@NguyenersClub From looking at the past forums, it seems like the SF campus accepts about 35 students (but I could be wrong!), and the OC campus accepts about 25 students. It also looks like the OC campus is a bit easier to get into, and they said in a webinar they hosted, 4 days ago, that the OC people won’t have to travel to SF for rotations nor for graduation. If anyone is interested, I can post the slides from the webinar (I was 10 minutes late to viewing it, so I missed the first few slides), but most of the slides are relatively common information on the school! ?

@PagingNurseTerri Yes! I love that you said you’re speaking nursing into existence! And USF-OC is my top choice! I graduated college in 2018, and took all my prerequisite classes that I need to apply for nursing schools throughout 2019, so now I’ve begun applying to schools! I applied to UCI in January, but I didn’t receive an interview email, so I’m pretty sure I didn’t get in. The other schools that I’d like to apply to, when their applications windows open up, are Western Uni and USD! How about yourself?

Hi everyone ? I am so excited for all of you applying to the OC ME-MSN program. I am apart of OC cohort 6 and I just finished semester 5 which is so exciting only one semester left. I remember how stressful it was applying and waiting to hear back. I also had so many questions about the program so I wanted to let you all know I am putting this here so any of you can reach out to me and I will answer any questions you may have.

To answer some of the questions I read there are usually 25 students accepted in a cohort. Clinical sites are mainly located in Orange County with a few sites being in LA. There will not be any need to go to USF unless you want to attend the graduation ceremony for your MSN. There is a white coat ceremony to celebrate your nursing journey and a nurse pinning ceremony for graduation both are held at the OC campus. I am not sure the average number of applicants.

Wishing you all the best of luck!!

@kaitlinrenee Thank you so much for providing that information and being open to questions! And CONGRATS on only having 1 more semester to go!! I don’t want to overwhelm you with too many questions at once, so I’ll ask my top 3:

1. How do you like the program?

2. How do you feel about the workload?

3. What can we do to go into the first semester as prepared as possible? (I.e. Certain topics we should brush up on? Tutoring classes we should enroll in? A certain club/organization that the MSN students are involved in?)

Again, thank you! I really appreciate it!

Hello beautiful people! I just applied today to the FALL 2020 Cohort at USF, Orange County as well.

@kaitlinrenee Thank you so much for writing on this thread to provide some insight for all that the program has to offer. I am very grateful! Best of luck to all those who have also applied.

I love the idea of "speaking into existence" as mentioned earlier. It was definitely inspiration for my username! ?
