University of North Carolina Greensboro (UNCG) Fall 2023

Published

Hi everyone. Just wondering if anybody else has received an offer of admission and accepted the offer for UNCG cohort starting Fall 2023. I have created a facebook page for our Cohort. I will attach the link as soon as possible. Please join if you would like.

Congrats to those who received an offer. I interviewed and haven't heard back. I thought the interview went well. Fingers crossed!

Congratulations to everyone who applied! It's a huge task to even be eligible for application to the program, and I love seeing how many of us have achieved the necessary hours, licensure, and test scores. Definitely something to be proud of!

I interviewed 9/13 and IMO bombed the clinical questions part after my mind left my body. I didn't realize this would be such a large part of the interview, so I didn't slow down to think and answered the questions rapid fire, like I was on a game show. I won't repeat any of the questions, but I missed one that a layperson could have answered correctly, and I knew I was wrong immediately. Well that sent me into a spiral and the rest of the clinical interview was messy. I sent a followup email thanking them for the interview (not addressing the ridiculous answers I gave), and it's been crickets since.

My academic background and test scores are strong, but I'm sure I left them wondering how on earth I provide safe care to my patients. *Cringe*

GRE verbal 164 (94%)

GRE quantitative 169 (93%)

GRE writing 5.0 (91%)

Undergrad GPA (BS Bio, BA Chem, BSN) 3.77

Nursing GPA 3.95

4ish years in critical care, most of it traveling as charge and preceptor

Should I follow up again? Would you send an email recognizing the errors made in answering clinical questions?

Congrats again to all, and to those who got it: YOU DID IT!

I don’t think a lay person could answer any of those questions. I got some easy ones wrong too. I mentioned in my email that I was eager to learn and reviewed the questions immediately following the interview. I said I was aware that I didn’t get them all correctly but I was ready to learn. Keep your head up! They said they’d be making decisions into dec. Your credentials and experience is similar to mine. If you don’t get in this year definitely apply next year. This was my second time applying so I was more prepared for the clinical questions than I was the first time around. Best of luck!

Thanks for your reply!

I agree that most of the questions were challenging. I looked up things I wasn't sure about and there was one question I was sure I'd never learned, but expected to learn in CRNA school. I said so much during the interview! Unfortunately, the one that I let get to me was one I could have answered as a high schooler. They asked about a disease by it's commonly known acronym: the answer was one of the words in the acronym. Yikes!

I like that your email follow up included you addressing the questions. Thanks for the encouragement! I look forward to what the next weeks bring for us both.
