University of Nevada Reno Psych NP Program

Published

I know they just started a new program at UNR. It looks like a good program, on the phone they told me it is a hybrid program with a visit scheduled currently 1 time per month. I tried to ask if they were flexible on this requirement and I was told that at the current time they are not but may be in the future.

Anyone here attending or have any other information about the program?

I am attending, will graduate in May, the FNP program at UNR. They used to require monthly interaction, now it is only required once or twice a semester and you can log into campus online for their other required classes. The curriculum can be very challenging and there is a lot of writing. As well, there is 790 clinical hours. However, when it comes to being a provider and having to pass the boards, do you really want it easy?- The psych curriculum is very similar.

Hi! I'm a FNP student in New York currently and just started the program. My dad is currently living in Nevada and he had asked the UNR school about transferring and they said it's definitely possible. Just wanted to ask you, how was the program ? My program is currently hybrid, but some classes i feel like there's not much lecturing but more so telling us to read the textbook and that's about it. What are the passing rates for the boards for the UNR FNP program if you know and how well did the program prepare you to be a good practioner and to pass the boards? And how hard were the boards overall? Thanks!
