  1. @FloatDaddy I’m looking into preceptorship right now but the ones I mentioned at the start of this thread are opening soon, one already was posted about 2 weeks ago for providence orange county and LA areas. Best of luck!
  2. Hey! Wanted to ask is the periop training always M-F 7-3? Or is there flexibility for 12 hour shifts during the fellowship?
  3. @Rose_Queen thank you for your response! I’ve tried to look for just regular OR positions, but often times they state they want at least 1 year Acute Care experience in the OR, which I don’t have. That’s kind of been my dilemma so I’ve opted to look for Fellowships. I’ve noticed This trend in California specifically, here in NY they also don’t always state fellowship but will still hire to train for the OR.
  4. Hello everyone, I am a registered nurse, with three years of RN experience, two of which have come from working circulating in the OR at an eye surgery center. However, I've always wanted to work in the Main OR and wanted to go through a full periop 101 fellowship. I reside in New York right now, but I have my CA RN license and am looking to relocate there by the end of this year/beginning of next year. I am looking into periop 101 programs and so far I've come across CHLA, Providence TIP, CHOC, and UCLA. I am looking to move to either LA, OC, or San Diego. Besides the above mentioned experienced nurse transition programs, I have not come across others. Anyone who is familiar with California, would you be able to give your input as to what other facilities may offer such a fellowship? Thank you!
  5. Hi! I'm a FNP student in New York currently and just started the program. My dad is currently living in Nevada and he had asked the UNR school about transferring and they said it's definitely possible. Just wanted to ask you, how was the program ? My program is currently hybrid, but some classes i feel like there's not much lecturing but more so telling us to read the textbook and that's about it. What are the passing rates for the boards for the UNR FNP program if you know and how well did the program prepare you to be a good practioner and to pass the boards? And how hard were the boards overall? Thanks!
  6. Hello. I've been a nurse for about a year now and just got accepted into an FNP program. My goal is to work in the aesthetic/plastic surgery field and getting accepted into this FNP program was kind of a last minute thing. Wanted to see if anyone who had experience in this for the plastic surgery field does it make a big difference to have your RN vs. your FNP? I'm also planning to move to California and am currently residing in New York. This program would make me have to take out more loans reduce my hours at work significantly and keep me here in New York another two years. Just wanted some input from anyone who has experience in the plastic surgery/aesthetic field if getting the NP is really necessary? Or if it could be put off for a later time. Thank you!
  7. also how did you get into the icu? I want to to go crna school. And i want to try to get into an icy maybe in California
  8. Thanks! Yea i have a lot of questions. Message me privately your #! How did you find out about the OR training program?
  9. Hey have you moved to Cali yet? What's your plan? I'm kind of stuck i left the telemetry/med surg unit i was working on in January and started working at an ambulatory eye surgery center. I still want to move to California just not sure how to go about that now.
  10. Btw do you know the link to the Ucla OR program
  11. I actually got someone to answer they said that my license will be ready in two weeks! I'm going to California in May just to check it out. Have you been looking for jobs there yet? How's your new job here in New York?
  12. I keep trying to contact them but they won't answer. Any suggestions? I was on hold for 42 minutes and no one picked up
  13. Okay thank you! I am pretty sure more than 4 weeks, or just about 4 weeks went by since i resent what they have asked for but my application on breeze still says pending? I guess I should try calling them then? are there any specific prompts I should pick to speak to someone specifically? Thanks!
  14. hey girl do you know any other phone number to the CA BON? I have tried calling the number listed on their site but it always says that they are busy and no one answers.
