Hello guys, I am planning to attend the UMIAMI FNP 2013 class...any of you guys from out of state? I am from Boston...really nervous to move and kind of scared of the workload :/ I graduated a year ago...did pretty well in undergrad but I'm not sure how this will be. Anybody heard about the workload and any of you guys working part-time? would love to connect.

@katerina89, I think we will be just fine. The workload is manageable. I have spoken with graduates of the program. It may be possible to work part time the first semester but not the 2nd and 3rd. There are quite a few recent-new grad nurses in our program so you are not alone there. At some point I think our cohort should start a private facebook group so that we can all keep in contact and share information and stuff. I went to UM last year and our class had a FB group. It was so helpful to be able to communicate with everyone in class...for example, you could post a question about financial aid on the facebook page and several people would respond right away. Much easier than calling up the fin aid office and going through some automated phone prompts.

Hello everyone! Congrats on being accepted to this program. I am interested in applying but would like to know the requirements and expectations from the University. What's the minimum gpa? Do they require a GRE? What type of questions do they ask in the interview process? How fast do they get back to you on your acceptance? Please Inform.

Thanks

Congrats to those who were in the 2013 cohort! Being that it was a year ago, many of you must be close to graduating. I'm curious as a BSN RN looking to become a FNP, how did you like the program? What did you think of the one year FNP? What made the program difficult, what made it easy? How was clinical? What ways was is similiar to Nursing school and different?

Thanks for any responses! I'm very interested in the one year program! I'm only 26 single and have no tie downs to my home in NY. I can move and fully dedicate myself to the one year FNP.
