Nursing Students School Programs

Hello Everyone,

Is anyone else applying for the Accelerated BSN program at the University of Miami to start in May 2018? I am just finishing up my application now and hoping to submit it in a week or two. I'd like to connect to some others also applying!

I look forward to hearing from you all!

Congrats! Were you ever sent an email letting you know that you had a "message" on canelink? Or are we supposed to be checking cane link daily?

Yeah I received an email moments later with the same acceptance letter

Specializes in PICU / PCVICU.

@acmarie Hi I was accepted back in January 2nd. my cum gpa was a 3.3 Chemistry Major. And my pre req gpa was a 4.0. I have a over 1,000 clinical volunteering hours. Hope this helps!! and good Luck :)

Hi! has anyone made a facebook group for admitted students? I've been looking but can't find anything

Did someone say that the last cycle of decisions will be the second week of april? Hasn't anyone else spoken with admissions and gotten any more information? I'm hoping there are still slots available. I just don't understand why I am in the last cycle if I sent it my application mid December. There were people who applied after me and got decisions already. :/

I think they said that they have pushed decisions back from end of March until the end of April. The next round will go out the second week of April, but they will keep sending out decisions in batches until the end of April.

The same person that gave us this information said that the admissions person they spoke to said they still had seats available at that time.

Personally, I am finding this to be more and more stressful as I am trying to come from out of state - end of April is going to be so much harder to manage assuming they send out any acceptances at that point. We will see. Still have my fingers crossed...

That's really disappointing..how do they expect us out of state students to find housing?

Does anyone else who hasn't heard back yet have a hold on their canelink saying "Academic advising required" ?

were you accepted? Just wondering since yours said "academic advising required" once it was set complete.

No I haven't heard back yet! But I think that it says that because I am enrolled in a course at UM now..

For those that have accepted admission, has anyone gotten any information on the pre-immersion class we need to do before orientation?

Hi everyone,

I know we are to register for courses on Monday April 9th, through CaneLink. However, I was also wondering how to register/ access the pre-immersion course. I called and was advised we should have received an email from Isabel Figueroa stating we would receive an email regarding the course closer to its start date.

On the Get Ready/ Onboarding checklist it says we are to start the preimmersion course on April 14th. I am guessing we should focus on registering on Monday for our classes, and expect an email regarding the preimmersion course sometime beginning- mid-week, next week.

If anyone hears anything regarding the course or has heard something different... Please share :)

Congrats to all who have been accepted. I look forward to meeting you all in May.

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to give an update to anyone who is still waiting to hear back - I spoke to the School of Nursing today and the woman I talked to told me that at the moment they are planning to have all decisions sent out by next week! She also told me that currently there are still spots in the cohort. So this may be good news for those of us who are still waiting and/or may be coming from out of state.

I just got accepted today! I am looking for roommates if anyone is interested!!
