Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello,

The application cycle for University of Miami ABSN for Summer 2017 just opened today. Wondering if anyone is applying! I will be sending my application in a few weeks. Deadline is March 1st. But its rolling admission so the earlier you apply the earlier you hear back! Good luck to everyone. Also if someone is currently a student in the ABSN program, please share your thoughts about the program to help the rest of us who are applying :)

I just received my acceptance! I requested to be added to the group Megan Tunney is my name.

Hello all!

I still haven't heard anything or received a decision yet via canelink. Just wondering if people are still receiving acceptances? When I called a while back they said all decisions would be out by end of March...

Hi! I'm in the same boat actually. I was visiting from NY and went down to the school of nursing to ask about it and I was told that I've been internally waitlisted (as I applied in early Jan) and that final decisions should be going out in the next 2 weeks. You might be in the same situation if you haven't heard from them. I just spoke to them on Monday about this so hopefully we know soon! Best of luck

Emt469,

Thank you so much for this information! I appreciate it. If that is the case, I wish us both luck! When I emailed them they told me that they "still haven't made a decision on my application and that I would find out soon," so this helps me understand why.

Again, good luck!

I just checked my status on canelink and it states my application is complete. I am looking for a status stating if I was accepted or not. However, it does not seem to be listed anywhere. Has anyone else run into this on their account?

I believe this is an internal way to mark the status and that complete means they have made a decision. Hold on for just a little bit longer, the system has to update itself before the decision goes out! I'm still waiting for mine to be marked complete so if you get a decision could you let us know? The waiting is killing me! Best of luck

I am in the same boat as well. Mines says complete, however I don't see anything else that states otherwise. Just like @emt469 the wait is killing me too. Wishing us both best of luck!

Hey all,

Just wanted to let you know I just recieved my decision via email, I was not accepted into the program unfortunately. My application status still says incomplete too. So if yours changed to complete then that could be good news and should hear something soon. I wish you all the best.

Just wanted to update -

My application stated that it was complete yesterday. However, I received an email today stating that I unfortunately was not accepted. Good luck to those that are still waiting.

I received my email of regret, and I'm already applying for next semester. Good luck to all that have been accepted into the program. Wishing you guys much success and tons of RED BULL lol

Also I'm going to try other programs like Barry University, FIU and Keiser University for those that are interested they have the same program however the tuition is different of course. is another program however its not in South Florida, its in Land O Lakes, Tampa, and I think Orlando for those who are looking and willing to relocate

Hi my name is Whitney.

I am considering the accelerated program at UM for summer of 2018. Does anyone have any advice about the application process? Im starting my pre-reqs this summer and they will be finished by Spring 2018, so the semester before the program starts. Do you know what kind of GPA they are looking for? Work Experience? Volunteer? What kind of candidate they want? Any information would be much appreciated!!!
