I did call the school about cost and here's additional info for those who may want it... I'm still not 100% on what I'm going to do.

MONEY

- $42,000 base tuition

- $2,800 "max" fees per semester (if you don't want insurance, this number will go down) x 3 semesters = $8,400

- $50,400 tuition & fees (without factoring in living expenses)

- If you find an apartment for a LOW $1500/12 mo lease = ~$18,000... cost ^ $68,400 if you're planning this out.

- Financial Aid will be put through after deposit is made and may not be processed until November.

PROGRAM MISC.

- Program is 5d per week. Typically can start anywhere from 7a and last until 7p based on faculty work schedules.

- If you have a clinical on a Saturday, you will get Tuesday off (just an example). Shifts would be 12 hours long and could be 30 miles N/S/E/W.

Hi everyone!

I submitted my application 6/25, hoping to hear back by the end of the month if that's not unreasonable! Does anyone mind sharing their stats? Congrats on your acceptance!!

hi! I applied on May 25th, received canelink May 27th. Went “under review” June 9th and acceptance on June 29th.
My stats are very low and I was surprised in getting in. My undergrad GPA is a 3.2 and prereq is about the same

I’m so glad that you did get in! No matter what your GPA I’m sure you worked hard in undergrad. That does make me feel more secure though, I have high hopes! Fingers crossed :). Do you think you’ll go to UM?

Thank you so much! Wishing you lucky

Yes. I’ve already paid my deposit. I’m already in the south Florida area and this was the only school I applied for this Spring start as no other ABSN programs in Florida start in the Spring and I didn’t want to relocate. If I hadn’t gotten in, I would’ve been applying for Summer term schools

I put a deposit down at a masters entry program elsewhere. I thought UM was to impersonal for me, unfortunately. I wish all of you the utmost success ❤️???

@blondey Do you mind explaining why you think that is? I’m just curious and need some help deciding where to go. I personally haven’t heard much (good or bad), so I’d love to hear how it is impersonal. Thank you for sharing!

Hi! I received my acceptance last week and had a few questions if anyone knows! I was wondering how many days a week the clinicals would be for the first semester? And for non clinical days how many hours of class is there per day? Also, has anyone heard from previous students their overall thoughts on the program?

@GoldenIslandGirl I actually decided to go with UMiami. I found out the other school was hyper-religious and it didn’t come up in the interview. The impersonality I was talking about was because I didn’t get to talk to any faculty or program staff during the process and I agree I don’t know basically anything about the program. That probably seems crazy to pick this school, but I wanted a “name” school with a great facility and “campus”, I wanted to be in Florida and I wanted an accelerated program. I’m nervous about 12 months but I am very very hopeful the incoming class will be collaborative and supportive of each other vs unnecessarily competitive and faculty will be great.

I hope this answers your question- I had pros and cons for every school and this ended up being the school with the least amount of cons for me.

Just curious...does anyone have an idea of how much weight is given to volunteering?
