University of Maryland SON FNP Fall 2011

I'm new to this site so I apologize in advance if a thread for this has already started but I am looking for any applicants out there for the FNP program for Fall 2011 at University of Maryland's school of nursing. I'm totally stressing over this waiting because I work with this guy who applied last semester and was rejected and he's pretty much a genius, lol. Then I found some posts from Fall 2010 and everyone was rejected. How competitive is getting into this program. I'm starting to think I should really be thinking about what I will do if I don't get in. Anyone know what they are looking for in the application process other than a high GPA?

dcfree, do you know anything about the Trauma/ER/CC program? Is the class about the same size?

Has anyone been invited to interview if so how was it? What kind of questions were asked? I already know more then likely you will be asked of your strengths/weaknesses, goals in the program.

I could be wrong, but I don't think they require an interview. On the website it looks like only the DNP applicants go through the interview process.

Has anyone heard anything yet? Mine still says Committee Ready. They started notifying the BSN people yesterday .

Nope, nothin'. I emailed them and was told that they are shooting for late April. Sigh. Yeah, I will definitely post on here when I hear something. Thanks. :)

i've been browsing around this site and it looks like decisions have been made for the BSN program, hopefully that means we are not too far off in finding out. i'm going to be so disappointed if i don't get in, i need to stop worrying myself to death, lol. anyhow...thanks for the reply..i'll be in touch as well.

Yeah, I've mostly been following along with the BSN thread since no one else really posts anything on this one! I am feeling exactly the same way. The wait has been agonizing. I'm trying to stay positive, though!

I haven't heard a thing, either.....Here's my theory: I'll be pleasantly surprised if I get in, but I will not be devastated.....if not accepted, I will try again! Crossing my fingers for everyone hoping for admission:)
