Hi everyone! I haven't seen a thread for U of H's Accelerated BSN program for Spring 2022 so I decided to start one. Here are my stat's:
Overall GPA: ~3.7
Science GPA: 3.5
TEAS: 88.7
I haven't taken Chemistry or Nutrition yet, so I'm hoping that doesn't hurt me.
I've worked as a Patient Care Tech at BSWH since August 2020.

The TEAS was more difficult than the HESI, in my opinion, but use ATI practice tests (if you aren't already). That will help tremendously. Since ATI writes the TEAS, their practice tests are very similar to the actual TEAS. We even use ATI in the program to prepare for the NCLEX, since they also write that. If you don't get a great score the first time, you probably have time to redo it anyway so don't worry too much!
The program is really hard, but honestly all nursing programs are hard so IDK if it's really THAT much worse. It's really fast paced and most of the work is on the students. They don't handfeed the info, they expect you to find it yourself. The profs are really supportive. We probably spent about 80-90 hours a week on it, between hw, studying, lectures, labs, and clinicals, for the first semester. It calms down a bit after that.
Schedule:
Monday- labs 8-5 ish
Tuesday- lectures 8-4
Wednesday- clinicals or open
Thursday- lectures 8-4
Friday- clinicals or open
Saturday- some had one or two clinicals days throughout the semester
Wednesday and Friday are clinical days, on average about one clinical a week, sometimes none and sometimes two though it changes every week. We get more clinical days each semester. Hope this helps! You can keep sending questions if you have any more ?
Thanks for this! It provides a lot of clarity. I was wondering how often are exams and if you work?

We have an exam pretty much every week. Some people were able to maintain their jobs before, but really only if it was some flexible virtual work or picked up a shift here or there when they had a free day. But the vast majority of us don't work.
I wanted to share a rough timeline of how the application process went now that I’ve been accepted for any future applicants:
The NursingCas application was due Aug 1. Make sure to complete all the requirements and turn in everything in a timely manner. A few days after I submitted my app, I got an email from UH confirming my application was under review. After my application was verified and everything was submitted, I had to wait for the interview invite.
I received the interview invite email on Aug 24 and had to confirm attendance by Aug 30. I believe invites were only sent on this one day. This invitation asked us to sign up for a drug test and had some info about stuff to look over for the interview.
On Aug 30, I got an email confirmation for attendance for the Virtual Zoom Interview on Sept 3 from 8am to 4pm. There was only one day to interview. On Sept 1, we received an email with information on the actual interview including how to set up zoom for this interview, an itinerary for the day, and more info about the program. (With any email correspondence, make sure to read everything clearly, and make note of deadline dates and times!)
For the virtual interview, make sure you dress professionally, have a good internet connection, and are ready for a full day online. You’re assigned a group and everything was well organized so you always know where to go and what to do.
We started with a welcome and introductions and then split off into groups to complete a group presentation, computer assessment, and a panel interview. For the group project, you’re split off into breakout rooms of 5-7 people to make a small ppt slide presentation and then everyone presents their topic. For the computer assessment, you have to write about things relating to why you chose nursing and how you would be a good fit for this program. The panel interview was another breakout room of 5-7 people and everyone takes turns answering questions for the duration of the section. There is a lunch break halfway through the day. At the end, there was a clinical readiness policy presentation as well as a presentation with info about the program in more detail and a Q&A portion.
Overall, everyone was extremely kind and helpful and honestly I was very nervous but the day went well! Before the interview, really understand why you want to be in nursing but also why this specific program. Do your research and look up interview questions! None were too difficult and everyone was very supportive, from the other interviewees to the faculty.
There were approximately 110 interviewees and as of now, I am unsure of how many got accepted. Still, something one of the faculty members mentioned is worth repeating: if you get an interview invite it’s because they already like you as a candidate. Just make sure to be honest and prepare for the interview and you’ll probably have a spot ready for you!
We were told to expect a response by Sept 13, but acceptances were sent out Sept 11 throughout the day. As far as I’m aware, this was the only day acceptances were sent out. Confirmation for the acceptance is due Sept 17th. If you are applying to other programs, consider how early this program requires a response if you want to have your options open.
Best of luck to any future applicants!
There are two ways to create a special area for your cohort, that are Terms-of-Service approved.
One is to create a facebook page. This link is allowed to be posted.
The other is to create a "Club" within the site, by clicking on the Breakroom link (upper left-hand corner, in the yellow bar) and in the green area, click Start a Breakroom Club.
Any other references or links posted are not TOS-approved, and will be removed.
We wish you success In your Nursing program
I made one. I have lots of questions before we start. Please join and invite those you know who were accepted!

For my cohort, one was about clinical and giving us info on that. Another was a computer-related portion where we were given a prompt and typed a response, and then one was just info about the program as a whole. We could ask questions but it was mostly just us listening to them on those two info sections.
To answer this question:
Thank you so much for your response! Do you by any chance remember approximately how many questions each person got in total for the interview portion? Also, were any of them related to covid?
I think we each had around 3-4 interview questions, they were not COVID related but it was discussed in other sections. The questions were pretty basic interview questions.
