Just started the app for this school's program. Anyone else thinking of applying here? I'm pretty annoyed at how expensive the application is: $100 for the grad school and $65 for the NursingCAS application system! This will be one of my fallback schools in case I don't get into my favorites...but the surf life and the tropical breeze does sound very very appealing! Also, anyone know anything about this school's reputation?
Thanks!
Sam
tell me about it!! I looked on craigslist for apts. but theyre expensive too! At least for a decent looking one. I know some people may argue we are going to be super busy and we probably won't be home too often, but I don't want to live in a crappy apt. just because it's cheap ( although, I feel that the grad apts. are probably not too nice). However I did find 3 bedroom condos that if split between 3 people would be around $660 each, and thats not too bad.
Yeah, I am starting to think that if I end up going to school there for sure, sharing a place will be the most affordable. I'm still not sure if my boyfriend is going to move out there with me--we've been living together for almost 2 yrs but every time I bring up moving to Hawaii he changes the subject and says he's not ready to make that decision. It's SOOOOOOO FRUSTRATING!!! I don't plan on staying together if he doesn't come with me, I'm not doing the long-distance thing all the way from Hawaii. I also need him to figure it out soon so I can make plans accordingly. My bestie still plans on moving out there with me, but she will most likely be bartending or serving; I am hoping being around studious individuals will inspire her to start college. She likes to party so I have to make it clear to her that our home is to be a quiet sanctuary, if she doesn't like that, she can't live with me. I too, do not want to live in a junky apt. I'm too old for that crap (almost 32). I need a washer and dryer, haha. I've been perusing craigslist too... If/when I know I am for sure attending school there maybe we can find a decent 3BR and be roomies!
Hey girlys,
When I first found out I would be moving to HI I freaked out about the price of housing. I could not believe that shacks could cost so much!!!! Continue to look on craigslist around the Manoa, Waikiki and Honolulu area, I found tons of studios less then 1000 with all utilities included. Also here on the island, they wont rent to people over the computer, they want you to come see the place for yourself before they will rent it out....weird and annoying I know, but no one would rent to me until I physically saw the place. If there is anything I can do to help please do not hesitate to ask. If you find a place and need me to check it out just let me know, I love looking at apartments:)

its a little over $5000 a semester, so basically $1000 a month. I only want to live in the grad apts. the first year, and hopefully find a roommate the rest of the time because it will be a bit cheaper. I just didn't feel comfortable living by myself so i opted for grad housing even though it's not what I really wanted to do.
