University of Hawaii Manoa 2013 MEPN Program

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Just started the app for this school's program. Anyone else thinking of applying here? I'm pretty annoyed at how expensive the application is: $100 for the grad school and $65 for the NursingCAS application system! This will be one of my fallback schools in case I don't get into my favorites...but the surf life and the tropical breeze does sound very very appealing! Also, anyone know anything about this school's reputation?

Thanks!

Sam

I haven't received a financial aid offer yet. Did you get yours by email or snail mail? I submitted my Form A mid-Feb, and my SIR around March 1st. How long did it take for you to get your financial aid offer after you submitted that stuff? I'm in California too!

Oh, I completed my FAFSA a while ago too.

i turned my sir on march 5th I think. I filled out my fafsa like the 2nd week of feb., did you log on to you myUH account? Thats where my Financial aid offer was. i had no clue where to check, i thought that they would send me an email notification but I didnt get one, I have never received financial aid before so i was totally lost so by friend helped me find it, lol, and I just received it last friday

o, and where in Cali are you if you dont mind...i'm in Long Beach

I didn't even know I could log-in to myUH yet! Thanks for the info.

I'm in Mammoth :)

lol, I didn't either, but we can! Hopefully all your info is there

@nanichan yeah i spoke to ****** a couple days ago and he said 1-2 weeks. although that is already 1-2 PAST the time we were supposed to find out! So frustrating. I think that means we are unknowingly on the waiting list. We need to wait for those who decline their offers to see of there is space for us. Maybe? Waiting as usual.....

@Ceci81 check out Fastweb : Scholarships, Financial Aid, Student Loans and Colleges i know the UHM scholarship deadline already passed.

Hi everyone!

I haven't heard of anyone that applied or got accepted to my program. I'm accepted for the Adult Clinical nurse specialist track. In regards to the HRSA scholarship. I read through all the fine print and because we are considered a direct entry program, I don't believe we are eligible for scholarship. If anyone knows otherwise please share. We are possibly eligible for loan forgiveness. I'm totally stressing on this end trying to figure out how I'm going to pay for the program. Getting in was huge but figuring out how to finance this is a beast! Good luck to those still waiting:) I'm rooting for you all!

Thanks nicm64! Have you had any luck applying for those scholarships?

kaanoi, are you out-of-state too?

@ceci, no I live on the island however I have kids that will require childcare and quitting my job will cause a significant crunch in our finances.:(

Hey nicm, I just got my rejection letter yesterday! I spoke to S the day before and it sounds like the majority of rejection letters have been mailed. So if you have not received anything yet, I'd say that's a great sign! Good luck to ya!

@ ceci I personally haven't tried but I heard there are a lot of scholarships available.

@nanichan awwww man!!! So sorry about that. I haven't gotten a letter yet. Hopefully I don't! Well even though you didn't get in, don't give up! Keep trying to apply to mepn and other programs! There are plenty in hawaii! HPU, university of Phoenix, and KCC of course! Good luck in getting in somewhere oneday!!!

@ nicm64

I applied to the PNP as well. I haven't gotten any response through email or mail. I'm so nervous, considering that majority of the rejection letters have been sent. But hopefully we can both get in! I want to ask if my application is still being reviewed. It's been so long..
