Okay, no answer is probably a sign....Canberra is a small place, a capital city in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by the state of New South Wales....3 hours south, south west of Sydney. No buildings over 4 stories...that is in the small city centre, parliament house and embassies are scattered everywhere.

Full of public servants and uni students and of course the facility members, a few tourist and people passing through, driving between Sydney and Melbourne or down to the coast.

Most students from Asia do not like Canberra because it closes at 7pm each night, very difficult to get part time jobs....not much nightlife and a small tourist industry.

It has a high cost of living and I heard accommodation is hard to come by....but hey, you get extra points for immigration to study there as it is considered country.

I have not met or heard of any nurses being educated at Canberra University before, it could be that they produce small cohorts and they go Sydney way when finished as there is nothing much in Melbourne. This university is often overlooked by the more prestigious and bigger...ANU, Australian National University.

btw it is also the coldest places in Australia at night and not that much better during the day.......but I still like the place.. it is pretty, and sense that this is the capital of my country, gives a feeling of grandeur, excitement and appreciation, but that would only relate to someone that is born here and knows the history of the place.

appreciate your reply, ceridwyn. May I ask what do you mean by "public servants"? tnx
