University of Calgary January 2024

Hi everyone! I've applied for the University of Calgary 2024 degree holders program at the beginning of July. I figured I'd make a new thread for applicants so we can all be anxious together haha ? I'm hoping so badly to hear back soon! 

Mine also got cancelled. They didn't say if the program was full, all they said was that I didn't meet the completive average. The average this year must have been really high.

Thank you, hopefully next year!

They didn't say whether or not it was full, just that my application was cancelled because I didn't meet the competitive GPA average.

Hey Everyone!

Just wanted to let you all know that I heard there might be changes to the admissions process for next year and that there's the potential for Fall admission to the after degree program. I'm attending an online info session for the Faculty of Nursing in the evening on November 22nd, so hopefully there will be some more info soon.

I believe its for Fall 2024, but I haven't heard anything definitive.

Oh okay, thank you! May I know where you heard that from? Was it from the admissions team?

Nursing Advising told me to keep an eye out for Fall program admission changes when I was asking about advising appointments. They let me know they're not offering advising appointments right now because they're making program changes.

Is this for both transfer and degree holders?

Hey, did you end up going? If so, did they mention anything about the second entry nursing?

So I did go to the info session last night and I got a little more info about the upcoming changes: 1) they only accepted 77 students into the after degree program for Winter 2024 intake 2) they're changing the programming for next year. It sounds there won't be a specific after degree stream but there will be a separate "advanced education" (can't remember the exact wording) stream which will be open for after degree students, LPN to RN accreditation, and transfer students (they didn't provide much detail on this) 3) info about official program changes will come out sometime before Christmas
