University of Calgary January 2024

Published

Hi everyone! I've applied for the University of Calgary 2024 degree holders program at the beginning of July. I figured I'd make a new thread for applicants so we can all be anxious together haha ? I'm hoping so badly to hear back soon!

Thank you! Hopefully soon :)?

I received an acceptance. Not sure what my GPA was calcualted as: somewhere between 3.85-3.95 I think.

I'm not from Calgary and I'm hoping to gain some insight on most convenient neighborhoods to live in for the program. I don't have a sense of how much time is spent at the university vs in the community/hospital(s). If anyone has info on this or could direct me somewhere to learn more that would be great!

Hey congrats on getting accepted! I'm in the same boat as I'm not from Calgary but I've been using the Off-Campus Housing Guide to get a better idea. I'll link it here:  https://www.ucalgary.ca/live-uc-ucalgary-site/sites/default/files/teams/69/ISS OffCampus Housing.pdf

It seems like along the C Train line is good as it's quick access to the university and from my talk with an advisor it depends on the Term how much time you're spending in clinical placement vs class. I think the first few terms are more in class with placements being during daytime hours vs.  final placement could be any hours as you follow the same shift as your preceptor.

That being said, would be great to get some insight from current students as my info is all just from my research online and talking with an advisor for like 10 mins haha
