Hey everyone. Just wondering if there is anyone else out there who was accepted into UB’s CRNA program with 2020 start date? ..or if there are any current students out there? I would live to chat! Thanks ?

Hello! my names Jeffrey, first off congratulations! I also got in. I'm on the same page as you, id love to chat with any current students. I'm not from the area and any tips would be great.

Congratulations to you as well! I am also not from the area. I will be coming from the west coast, but I was really interested to get current students perspectives on the program. I got in touch with someone who just graduated and made arrangements to call them Monday so I can let you know what information I find out. I just thought it was weird that they didn’t have students at their interview and I’m not too sure about the background behind the interim director and last director? But excited to know that I’m starting a CRNA program next year!

Thats awesome! I would definitely like to know what they say or thought. Feel free to E-mail me at [email protected]. I have a friend who was accepted last year but ended up going to another program, he was able to give me a lot of helpful information also.

Hey guys! I also was accepted and would like to know what you've heard from the recent grad. I would also be coming from the west coast but have not put my deposit down yet.

Congratulations on your acceptance!

Congratulations to everyone so far! I've submitted my deposit and will be taking a few classes over the spring as well. I would assume that once they have all the deposits in they will send out a group Email, hopefully with our "bigs" to help with guidance and questions.

Hello Everyone! I was accepted off of the waitlist. I’m from NY but 6 hours away. Congratulations and see you soon.

First of all, congratulations to everyone who was accepted, and best of luck to those still waiting!

I am a BSN student, who was hoping to learn a bit about what your application was like, in order to get an interview (stats: GPA, ICU experience, certifications, shadowing, etc, anything else you did to enhance your application). UB is one of my top choices for the DNP program, which is why I'm interested in knowing. Feel free to PM me! Thanks, everyone, and best of luck in your journey!

Hello Mrstealyowifi, I would recommend to try an get into a Critical Care Unit as soon as possible. I was fortunate to get hired into a critical care internship straight out of college. Two years of ICU experience is enough to start applying to school, many schools only require one year. you need your BLS and ACLS to practice on an ICU but youll also require your PALS once in CRNA school so be proactive and just get it. Personally I shadowed CRNAs all throughout nursing school and then atleast once a year once working as a nurse, if you could shadow at a hospital thats affiliated with UB thatll be better, I didnt. Youll need to get your CCRN which has its own list of requirements and youll need to take the GRE Exam and score fairly high, greater than 300 total score (150+ each subject). most schools ask for a GPA greater than 3.0 but in my experience you need atleast a 3.4 to be seriously considered. science classes are considered very important so if you have less than a B+ in any chem/biology class i would consider retaking it. my graduating GPA was on the lower end with a 3.6, i have 3 almost 4 years of CVICU experience, GRE score 310, BLS, ACLS, PALS, CCRN. Best of luck, keep your motivation and never stop chasing your dream!

MICUCCRN95, Congratulations!! what part of NY are you from?
