Congratulations!
As far as clinical for your first semester (6 weeks) you will be on a general med surg floor wherever they place you. Typically, students will go Wednesdays and Thursdays from about 7-3. However, there are 12 hour clinical and weekend clinical placements as well. I was able to give them a work note to be excused from the weekend clinical. However, I could only handle working about one 8 hour shift in the summer a week, if that! (exams come quick, roughly every 2 weeks). Then, for your second semester starting after the fourth of July, you will have your Pediatric rotation (about 2 shifts at children's hospital and 2 days at Cradle Beach camp), about 4 shifts for Mother/Baby (labor and delivery/postpartum), and your psychiatric rotation which is also about 4 shifts. Before you begin clinical each semester, you will also spend the first week in the skills lab and be expected to demonstrate your skills and pass prior to starting. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions!
