University of Alabama (UAB) PMHNP Spring 2023

I got my acceptance letter contingent upon my background and drug screen for the University of Alabama's PMHNP program starting in the Spring. Has anyone else here applied to PMHNP program at Alabama?

heyyy welcome and congratulations. I'm also doing the BSN to DNP. I was debating if I wanted to do the dual but I figured I could always go back for that. I want to say the background and drug test didn't take long to come back.

Hello, that’s good to hear, are you doing PMHNP or FNP, I was also debating at first but I was like what the heck let me just get it out of the way and I like psych unlike many other nurses LOL

I’m doing the PMHNP program. We’ll see how the classes are and I’ll decide later if I want to switch to dual.

Hey everyone so I got my email to do all the paperwork. It reminds of nursing school all over again LOL, but I got a few things out of the way already, also congrats to everyone that got in!

Nice… we’re getting close. I just downloaded the documents they requested. Did you get your degree plan as yet?

Is the degree plan the same as the plan of study? If so than yes. If that’s not it than no. Haha

yes, the plan of study is the same thing LOL. I’m taking 12 credits in the Spring, how many are you taking?

I’m taking 9 credits in the Spring, I’m doing the BSN-DNP so I think I’m taking doctorate level classes.?

You’ll take all of the same classes I take, just a lot more. I’m taking Advanced patho, pharm, health assessment, and roles of the PMHNP.

Yes I will take the those same ones but it’s seems later in my program. I’m taking Writing for publication, Evidence Based practice and research, and concepts of advanced nursing practice in my first semester.

I’m doing the same BSN-DNP program with you. I think we have the same classes starting out but I’m trying to see if I can take at least 1 of the 3P classes I’m Spring semester.

That would be good, do you know when we can register for classes?
