Has anyone here graduated from the University of Alabama's PMHNP program and is willing to share their experiences?

Hey I’m in their acute care program graduating in December. They are highly regarded in the gulf region for their programs in nursing both undergrad and graduate. I couldn’t find placement in NC and was able to secure preceptors in the mobile Alabama region with their help. Granted I’m in the acute program but we all take the same anatomy etc until the specialty courses start. I say go for it, the tuition is cheap and while some stuff is self taught the professors are hard working and get back to students quick.

I also was a traveler and had the means to move down here but they help you if you really need it

That’s great to hear! I’ve envisioned myself going to Alabama so it is a dream come true for me. For the advanced health assessment class, did you have to film yourself doing your assessments? Also, about how much time a week did you study?

How many hours did you have to spend studying? Was there a lot of busy work?

@cschylerrn

I am interested in applying for one of the UA grants, would someone direct message me with some information on how to do this?

Thanks!

Any insight from the cohort that started Spring 2023 in the PMHNP program? We'd love to hear your experiences thus far.
