Unique CRNA programs ; Taking core courses before starting the program !!!

Published

Alright folks, let me start with humble greetings to everyone.

Now, to the point of my post.

I am strongly considering achieving my life long dream of becoming a CRNA and recently while comparing few schools that offer the CRNA program, I realized that some programs allow students to take the core courses such as Anatomy, Physiology, pathophys, physics & Chemistry etc etc before starting the program. Some say after admission while others are ok with prospective students taking it before admission.

I understand that taking these courses does not guarantee acceptance to any program but I believe that if the student does well in these courses it only increases his/her chances of admission to that particular school and results in less work load and stress--- which means doing great in the program and completing it successfully

So far the number of credits some schools allow students to take ahead of time range between

9-22credits.

Now finally, I am considering a few schools namely

1. Texas wesleyan University In TX.

2. University of North Dakota in ND

3. Minneapolis school of anesthesia in MN

4. St Mary's University in MN

Q1. Does anyone know if these schools listed above allow students to take any courses before the program starts? If so, how many?

Q2. If you're a current student or graduate of these schools, could you please share your experience of the program so far ?

Or any other schools you may know? How many credits can you take in advance and transfer them into the program?

Schools like Drexel actually admit students 1.5-2yrs before starting the program and want students done with ALL the core courses by start date.

Unfortunately it is very pricy for me.

Please do not criticise or judge.

Your time is appreciated.

This is my first of many posts to come :)
