Hey everyone! I haven't seen one of these made for this year yet, so I thought I'd start one! 🙂

Yes I paid the deposit as soon as I was waitlisted. I feel like it shows intent on how serious you are in being in the program. You will get it back if you don't get off the waitlist either way. I feel like its easier as well because if they pull you off the waitlist you already submitted your deposit and it a easier transition vs someone that didn't leave the deposit. You could risk losing your seat if you don't respond in time. I am not sure what the turn around time is for someone to respond if getting pulled from waitlist but I am sure it's very short. We got this. It's not a denial it's just a delay!

I personally have almost 6 years of PICU experience, charge, precept, heavily involved in my unit/hospital committees. I am RRT/Code blue team. TNCC, PCAR, PALS instructor, along with all the basic requirements. I work at a heavy level I trauma center and see a various range of high acuity patients. I highlighted my leadership skills, my recent experience with taking 5 courses/working full time/ being a mom simultaneously to improve my GPA/showcase my growth as a student and ability. I also talked about the acuity I saw and was able to explain understanding of a disease process I had recently saw. I'm not sure if all this is what got me accepted or if my overall connection/rapport with the interview team was, but I felt really good coming out of it.
