Hello guys
I am applying to Union University Accelerated BSN program to start Fall 2015. I have open this thread for anyone who is applying, but also for any nursing students that would like to give their input on the class schedule, workload, and clinicals. I have submitted my application to NursingCAS, and I have to retake A&P I & II. Does anybody know if they have accepted students prior to the application deadline? I look forward to hearing from you guys as we go through this exciting yet challenging time of our lives.
Hi tmhill! I submitted everything in October and my nursingcas was verified Nov. 5th. They will email you once they have received everything for your application file. I got an email from the school Dec. 9th saying they received everything and my file was complete. Then I received another email for acceptance on Dec. 12th. I called to make sure they had everything and wasn't missing anything from me. Have you called admission? I talked to financial today and she said they have been super busy.
Hello everyone!
I'm planning on submitting an application to Union myself, but I'm a little worried that my GPA may not be up to snuff. I've got an 3.01 (right within the minimum, ), but this year and this past year, I've been earning A's, and that includes Human Anatomy and Physiology I and Microbiology. Do you think this would be enough or could I be waitlisted/declined? Please be wholeheartedly honest!
Thanks in advance!
Hi Klouis001!
Before I applied, I was worried mine was too low. I had a 3.12 GPA with a Bachelor in Biochemistry. I reread the website and they want a GPA of 3.0 for the last 60 hours of coursework. I didn't catch the "for the last 60 hours of coursework" the first time. After NursingCas calculated my last 60 hours, my GPA ended up being 3.28 which was higher because I did much better my junior and senior year with more A's. I would apply anyway because I think your personal statement and references are weighed in as well. Since you made A's in A&P I and Micro, that also looks good. :) That's my honest opinion. I was also nervous about applying, but I just did it anyways and got accepted. It wouldn't hurt to apply. Be positive and don't be discouraged!
