Union University ABSN Fall 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I applied to the UU ABSN program for Fall 2019 at the Germantown location. Is there anyone else that has applied to this program? It will be 2 weeks Thursday since they notified me that my application had been received and under review. I am just currently playing the waiting game.

Is there anyone in the program currently that has any pointers on anything? I was told classes are Monday-Friday 8-5.

Congrats to everyone who started this fall! Would anyone be willing to share what the schedule was like?

Our first half of the semester:

Patho: M/W 12:30-3:00

Pharm: F 8:00-11:00

NUR-online course

Nur-online course

The 2nd half of the semester we are there everyday. Sometimes til 5pm and sometimes just til 11am.

Thanks!! How are you feeling about things so far? The second part of the semester, are there set days until 5:00 or does it just depend on the week. Just trying to wrap my head around child care and such.

Thanks!

It’s rigorous, but fun! It really depends on what lab times you get picked for, it’s completely random. On Wed I got the 8-12 slot others got the 1-5 slot. You don’t have a say in what you get. Monday and Friday we are there from 8-4:00(M) and 8-3:30(F) Tuesday is 8-12 and Thursday is 8-11. The schedule stays the same pretty much the rest of the semester until you do “check offs” for certain classes. Then you might have to be there at any point between 8-4ish I think.

Thanks so much! So it does sound like you know what your schedule will be beforehand. Do you know what any of the other terms are like?

Also depends on your campus.

I'm at Jackson. For first half:

Health Assessment: M 8-12 with lab on W/F 7-12:30

Pharm: Th 8-11

And 2 online courses (writing and patho)

Second half:

Pharm: T 8-12

Skills: W 8-12 with lab on Th/F 7-12:30

and 1 online (writing)

Somewhat. I knew what the 1st half of classes were going to be more in advance than the second part of the semester. Other cohorts have said after the 2nd term your on campus maybe 1-2 days a week and the rest is spent in clinical settings.

They accepted the Stats!! Praise God!!

FAV1892.... I am curious what type of stats class you had. I am in the process of applying right now and don't have the "Math" elementary statistics version.

It was Psych Statistic. I had to show a copy of the syllabus before they approved it. Just make sure whatever you take is similar to regular stats!

THanks!!! Mine is a psych statistics too - from years ago, so fingers-crossed!!!

FAV1892... one more question.... did you note on your application that you were requesting a substitution or did you just apply as though you had completed that pre-req? Hopefully that question makes sense

I applied as though I had all my pre-reqs. After I was accepted, they vet and verify that each course is equivalent/same as the required pre-reqs. And then if one doesn’t match then you’ll get an email about it. It’s important to apply on time just in case you have to take any last minute classes.
