hi

Is there anyone who's applying for fall 2014 nursing program at union county college?

do you have any questions?

How is the school. I see a lot of post saying it's easy to get in to the program but then a lot of student's fail because all the school care about is money; & they don't have a good support system to help student's who are not doing well. Thanks NJ2013

Hi, I don't want to bias because i went to this school but here is my personal view , so let me first start saying that UCC itself is pretty good including good professors, not all but most, nice selection of classes and price is affordable. you can take presequites here or have them transfer from other colleges

Now, for trinitas school of nursing which is what i think you mean. you will be accepted as long as you meet all the requirements, there is no waiting list as of may 2014, but that might change in the future.. Nursing Classes are not easy, and it requires a lot of dedication and study time, which is pretty much the same with all nursing schools.. i'll say that most new nursing students do not understand this and take the class like any other class, and as a result, they fail the class. once they are failing, they expect to be "babied" by the faculty.. thats not their job..

the faculty makes themselves available to the student whenever they need help or if they struggling with exams. they also offered to peer tutors for math and nursing content if needed, they also have a labs so students can practice nursing skills. the school even offered meetings, so students who are failing express their concerns, or plain simple ask for help.. but out of over 250+, there were only about 10-20 students there..

in my opinion most of the faculty is excellent, some more likable than others. some are very strict, and some are a little more lay back, but all in all they want you to succeed, and be a great Nurse..

I can honestly say that their program is great, it prepares for the nclex very well, but most importantly to be a good and prudent RN. now keep in mind that is not easy, they will not give you any answers, and they are very strict about grading..but again, I'm sure is the same with other schools..

let me know if you specific quiestions

I applied!

I have to agree with NJ2013's post in response to yours. If I were you, I wouldn't let the things people post/say about Trinitas bother me. They consistently have a NCLEX pass rate of 100% or very close to it. The people who are negative about the school are usually the same students who don't expect nursing school to be as hard as it is. All nursing schools are extremely hard, and in most programs, if not all, if you get grades that are lower than they require, you will be dismissed from the school. This is why many people say the school only cares about money. The people I have met who made it through the Trinitas program have become very successful and say that the program really prepared them for nursing in real life.

Best of luck to you! Regardless of the haters, Trinitas is a good program, just be prepared to work hard.

Thanks NJ2013 & MICAL. Great advice I will definitely apply for spring 2015.
