Just submitted for Spring 2024. Figured I'd start a forum. Applications due 4/1 and I submitted last week. I haven't heard anything as of yet.

Hello all,

I emailed and they said Casper exam is needed starting next round. So no need to do it this round. Just thought I'd share.

Thanks for creating the forum.  I am a SRNA presently in the program.  You won't hear anything until the application closes on April 1st. Expect to hear back on the second week of April for interview invites. Last year, we got our interview invites late April and we interviewed in June. What are your stats? GPA, experience, etc. ?

Hello UNF2016

I was wondering if you could give me your opinion on my stats? I'm a little concerned about my GRE score as I didn't do as well as I was hoping, lots of issues with ETS to get testing accommodations unfortunately. I've been in touch with Ms. Lynche and informed her of the challenges I've been facing but there's only so much I'm sure she can do, my score is my score and I can't change it now. I got a 293 with a 4.5 writing

I feel like the other areas of my application are very strong though. I have incredible references and awesome personal statement, GPA of 3.67 which is an average of an (A-) 5 years of critical care experience doing heart transplants/CVICU and STICU but I've ultimately done all ICUs and of course I have my CCRN. I'm currently an advanced clinician at my hospital. But that GRE has me wondering if I'll even get an interview despite the other parts of my application being strong.

it's the second week of April now and I'm like ? my number 1 school left me on read LOL. I got an interview somewhere else but UNF is still my number 1 choice if I'm offered. Was it said that interviews invites would be sent out the second week of April for this year? I know you said last year was later in April.

Thank you for your questions. I am glad UNF is your #1 choice. Honestly, it's the best CRNA school in Florida.UNF CRNA program looks at your overall application. Honestly, your GRE score is better than mine. I had a 286-combine verbal and quant score with a 3.5 writing, but I still got an interview invite. My overall application was strong, I had 4 years of CVICU/MISCU/STICU experience, great resume and personal statement, and had my CCRN, TNCC, CSC, CEN, and TCRN certifications. My nursing GPA was 3.4( It's low because I got an F in adult health in nursing school-yep, I failed in nursing school), so I took 3 graduate school classes to make up for it. During my interview, the director asked me: "why is your GRE score so low. You have the lowest GRE score of all the applicants." I told him that I am a hands-on learner, that I learn best by doing what I have learned. For example, in nursing school, I learned about the steps on how to insert an NG tube. I practiced how to insert it during lab simulations and in real life on patients during clinicals. So when I was asked NG tube questions on my NCLEX, I answered the questions correctly because I had done it in real life. That's not the case with the GRE; I just read and study bunch of information and then went and take an exam on that information without any hands-on experience. The director was super impressed with my answer. Hope this helps.

I honestly think your application is strong and will most likely get an interview. And I will guarantee you they are gonna ask you about your GRE score because that's your weakness. So be prepared to answer that question like a graduate student with details( You can tell them exactly what I told them..hahah) Your performance during the interview is the most significant factor in getting admitted, not your GRE score. My coworker had a 4.0 GPA, CCRN, 320 GRE SCORE but didn't get in because they didn't do well on the interview. SO MAKE SURE YOU ARE WELL PREPARED FOR YOUR INTERVIEW.

I received my interview invitation email on Thursday, April 28, 2022, and I interviewed on Thursday, June 2, 2022.Two days after my interview on Saturday, June 4, 2022, the director called me on my cell phone to offer me admission.

Please let me know if you have any other questions. Will be happy to answer them. Good luck!!

I was trying to find a way to message you personally but I couldn't figure it out so I'll put it here ?I'm actually really glad that I found someone else who had the same GRE score as me, and honestly it was because I didn't give myself enough time to study for it. I got a 286 as well. 4 on writing. I have 2 years of Medical ICU, Surgical ICU, Neurosurgical ICU, at a Level I trauma center, with a previous year in critical care so a total of 3 years as a nurse. Certifications are CCRN, CMC, CSC, CSRN. Nursing GPA is a 3.95. Leadership: Co-chair of UNPC on MSICU. Research experience. 42 shadowing hours. A part of 7 nursing organizations, and I have volunteer hours, and great references. I'm hoping they give me a chance just as much as they gave you a chance? I've been preparing for the interview and rotating between EI and clinical bases questions! Thanks for your all of your help! I'm sure we all really appreciate it.

Hey guys! Seems like they're starting to send out invitations for interviews today. I'm just confused because they sent me 2 emails on accident it seems. One says I got an invite to interview, the other one says I didn't? ? so I have no idea. But from what I'm seeing in the email it's in person interviews ranging throughout May!
