UNF CRNA Spring 2024 start
Thank you for your questions. I am glad UNF is your #1 choice. Honestly, it's the best CRNA school in Florida.UNF CRNA program looks at your overall application. Honestly, your GRE score is better than mine. I had a 286-combine verbal and quant score with a 3.5 writing, but I still got an interview invite. My overall application was strong, I had 4 years of CVICU/MISCU/STICU experience, great resume and personal statement, and had my CCRN, TNCC, CSC, CEN, and TCRN certifications. My nursing GPA was 3.4( It's low because I got an F in adult health in nursing school-yep, I failed in nursing school), so I took 3 graduate school classes to make up for it. During my interview, the director asked me: "why is your GRE score so low. You have the lowest GRE score of all the applicants." I told him that I am a hands-on learner, that I learn best by doing what I have learned. For example, in nursing school, I learned about the steps on how to insert an NG tube. I practiced how to insert it during lab simulations and in real life on patients during clinicals. So when I was asked NG tube questions on my NCLEX, I answered the questions correctly because I had done it in real life. That's not the case with the GRE; I just read and study bunch of information and then went and take an exam on that information without any hands-on experience. The director was super impressed with my answer. Hope this helps. I honestly think your application is strong and will most likely get an interview. And I will guarantee you they are gonna ask you about your GRE score because that's your weakness. So be prepared to answer that question like a graduate student with details( You can tell them exactly what I told them..hahah) Your performance during the interview is the most significant factor in getting admitted, not your GRE score. My coworker had a 4.0 GPA, CCRN, 320 GRE SCORE but didn't get in because they didn't do well on the interview. SO MAKE SURE YOU ARE WELL PREPARED FOR YOUR INTERVIEW. I received my interview invitation email on Thursday, April 28, 2022, and I interviewed on Thursday, June 2, 2022.Two days after my interview on Saturday, June 4, 2022, the director called me on my cell phone to offer me admission. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Will be happy to answer them. Good luck!!

Look, I think your application is strong. You have 4 years of CCU experience, good GRE score, and have your CCRN and CME. More importantly, you have graduate school classes with good grades, which shows you can handle the difficulties of graduate school courses. Honestly, I don't think your 2.5 GPA will be an issue. UNF looks at your overall application. What you need to prepare for is the interview. It makes or breaks you. I know students with 4.0 GPAs with 320 and above GRE scores who interviewed with my cohort but didn't get in. To succeed in CRNA school, you need 3 things: Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude. UNF Nurse Anesthesiology Program will teach you the skills and knowledge you need to become a CRNA. What they can't teach you is Attitude. Your interview will evaluate your attitude about yourself, life, patients, and how you handle challenges, etc.

CICU vs Shock Trauma ICU
I am presently in Anesthesia School here in Florida. I have worked in Trauma ICU, Medical ICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU, ECMO ICU. But the unit that prepares you best for Anesthesia School is CVICU. As a CVICU nurse, you manage complex cardiac surgical patients and require a deeper understanding of medications and hemodynamics. Think about it, when a patient comes from a open heart surgerie, they are on multiple drips, Levophed, Epinephrine, Milrinone, Dobutamine, Propofol, Precedex, etc. They are on the vent, has multiple chest tubes, with Swanz connected to the monitor showing their SVR, CVP, PA Pressure, Cardiac Index, Cardiac output, SV02... See? This patient is the most difficult to manage and help prepare for Anesthesia School

Thanks for creating the forum. I am a SRNA presently in the program. You won't hear anything until the application closes on April 1st. Expect to hear back on the second week of April for interview invites. Last year, we got our interview invites late April and we interviewed in June. What are your stats? GPA, experience, etc. ?

University of North Florida (UNF) CRNA Spring 2023 Start
For those that didn't get in, I just wanna encourage you not to give up or get discouraged. I applied last year and didn't even get an Interview. Did I get discourage?? Nope. I saw the rejection as a stepping stone for success. So I went to work. I took 3 graduate school classes ( Advanc path, health informatics, and Policy), went to an observation class with a SRNA students at UNF( Attended Principles of Anesthesia1 lecture and Physics and Chemistry 1 lecture), went to diversity CRNA Mentorship Simulation Lab, etc. Guess what? Right, this year I replied and got in. Like me, if you go to work and improve your application, you will get in next year. Keep faith..Never give up. You got this!

UNF BSN FALL 2016 !
Hello, I also Applied for the Summer APL. My pre-requisite GPA was 3.65 and my Teas score 319. I thought I had the best interview of the four 5 individuals in my group. I got wait-listed for the Summer. I got a decent interview score, but my Teas score drop my ranking. I am reapplying again for the Fall.
