I really liked reading Fluid and Electrolytes Made Incredibly Easy! Definitely recommend it.

I don't know if this will help but our instructor told us to think about where you are in the body - are you in the cells, intravascular space? Then think about what you need to do - get fluid into our out of the cells or into or out of the intravascular space?

To remember isotonic, hypotonic and hypertonic I think ISOlated - stays where you put it; hypOtonic - pulls fluid Out of intravascular space; hypertonic i don't have a trick but it pulls fluid into intravascular space, if you know hypo just think the opposite lol. I hope this helps a little!!! it was a hard unit, but our instructor was awesome so I "got" it.

Thank you it actually does help a bit

drnajeeblectures.com wonderful wonderful tons of lectures where he breaks down everything until you fully understand it. there is a fee, but this will take you above and beyond in learning and understanding the concept. I too was completely blanked with fluid and electrolyte lecture until i watched his lecture, and also purchased a F&E rationale book. Very helpful, Aced my test. :) (alll within 4 days).
