I found a school that seems potentially good, but then I found out its unaccredited. Its Concorde Career College in arlington. Isn't it a huge downfall to attend an unaccredited college?

Yep, you can't get FAFSA loans or grants at an unaccredited school.
Yes you can. I was eleigible for an FAFSA loan. Concorde is accepted by the CA BON.
Thanks for the input. Certainly doesn't sound like the way to go,...I am wanting to move to dallas, but nursing programs are WAYYY competitive and my GPA isn't 4.0. This is why I was looking for school around Dallas. If anyone knows of a school that isn't really competitive drop me a note! Gauge- i do plan on getting my RN-It would be my first choice actually! I am doing LPN first b/c I have type 1 diabetes, and will be loosing my health insurance before long. I need a back up plan to provide myself with insurance to pay this 600+ a month expense, I think getting my LPN is the best option as far as money goes.

I'm doing it for the same reasons. almost. I am a middle-aged career-change. I want to get my RN, but I need a job with benefits, while I plough through the endless waits and prerequisites. I DO hate not being able to transfer the basics but... at least will know all the material when I have to take the classes at the CC 30 unit "bridge."
