UMSON BSN FALL 2017

I know the app isn't up yet but I was wondering if anyone was planning to apply.

All the acceptances Friday got me so excited to find out :geek: the waiting game continues. Has anyone been notified of a rejection?

Hey Guys,

First off I just wanna say good luck to all those still waiting, I hope you all get in.

Second, I received my phone-call from UMSON today about my admittance. I just want to say that they're soo nice and allowed me to switch from the Shady Grove campus to Baltimore. They're soo easy to talk to. Third, they told me that they sometimes "over-admit" applicants just to compensate for deferred-acceptances.

Hello there! If you don't mind, can you please share why you prefer the Baltimore location to SG? Does your reason have to do with the quality of experience at one location versus the other? Thanks.

@GreyLady when will the rest of decisions be released?

I do not know - they are releasing them in batches as final decisions are made. Not all decisions have been made and they are not being made in alphabetical order.

Yes, I feel like Baltimore campus has better experiences and resources, however the teaching quality may be different. I don't know, ever since undergrad I've always wanted to get into the Baltimore campus, so why blow this chance. Also, I'm not tryna bring down Shady Grove, but it's just my personal preference. :D

A close friend of mine graduated a few years ago from shady grove and loved it! I'd be happy at either campus. The program is amazing at UMD and the clinical locations at both are great!

Different strokes for different folks - both campuses have their advantages. I don't think you can tie teaching quality to location. The Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching award has been awarded three times, Two out of three were to Shady Grove faculty. Whichever campus you attend you will get a world class nursing education.

What made you switch from Shady Grove to Baltimore? I have been really on the fence about Shade Grove and was considering asking about switching.
