Hello everyone! It's my first time posting on this website. Just wanted to see who else is applying for the BSN program for Fall 2013? Any advice for new applicants? :)
I think they notify everybody together and in no particular order. I have a B.S. in music, but was accepted to the traditional program (I don't think they have an accelerated - I think it is the same 4 semesters for everybody unless you already have an RN and are going for the RN-BSN program). I was starting to get nervous before finding out this morning, so I looked up the big thread here on allnurses.com from the Spring 2013 application cycle. It took them close to two weeks to notify everybody according to that thread. People were posting acceptances up to fifteen days after the first person posted their acceptance notification. And then some other folks found out they were accepted even a month later (I think that was because people that were accepted had to turn down the offer for whatever reason, so they were able to accept some people from the wait list :) ). Hopefully that helps you guys that are waiting - knowing that it isn't over yet and there's still hope! I'm crossing my fingers for all of you :)
The lady on the phone with me said they send out a letter that has the acceptance form with it and we have two weeks to either accept or reject the UMSON's offer. So there is a little bit of time to think about it and make the decision if you're wavering between UMSON and another program.
Thanks Music to Medicine for the response. I wasn't sure if they were waiting for those who were accepted to accept before notifying others. Sounds like that is not the case.
To crp1991, this person checked the status online and it said admission rejected or something like that. It was pretty rough to see it.
For those of you accepted to the Baltimore Campus and plan on attending, a couple of us agreed to make a facebook page. Here's the link https://www.facebook.com/groups/527850967253760/
The process of offers and acceptances takes time. Students have to decide and send in their acceptance contracts and $400 deposits to fill those seats. Some are weighing other offers. When an offer is declined that opens a seat to someone else on the Wait List. Then the process starts again for that seat. For those who are on the Wait List, you should know that we have admitted students in that category every semester - it's just that we can't possibly know how many or when. As long as your status is not Rejected your application is alive. If anyone who is deciding about whether to accept is reading this - please know that the sooner you say no, the sooner someone else who really wants that slot will get the offer.
For those of you who have received an offer - Congratulations! Please accept it as soon as possible or decline it as soon as possible. It makes a difference to many others.
Best wishes for those of you still waiting.
