  1. Thanks Jane! That is very helpful. Do you know if it makes it more difficult to find work or limit the kind of work one can do?
  2. Hi Calibean-- I have a few questions about the GW program.. I am going to send you a friend request so I can ask you directly if that's okay! Thanks!
  3. Thanks everyone! Glad to hear it's not completely out of the question. The program I'm interested in does not require experience. If anyone can share what kind of NP work they do and if they enjoy it, I would love to hear some feedback.
  4. I am scheduled to graduate from my BSN program in Spring 2015. I am curious to hear pros and cons about going right to a Master's FNP program after graduating from the BSN program. While I am sure it would be helpful to get a few years experience before starting the NP program, this is a second career for me and I am almost positive I would ultimately like to go the NP route. While the AANP is only recommending the DNP starting in 2015, it is possible they will require it within the next 5-10 years. Ideally, I would like to get the NP before this shift happens, if at all. That is not to say I wouldn't get the DNP eventually, just not right away. I will have experience working as a perioperative tech this summer and have had several years experience working on the postpartum, L&D, and NICU floors as an IBCLC at two large hospitals. Any advice greatly appreciated!
  5. Does it say which campus you get accepted to or should you just assume its the one to which you applied?
  6. Thanks Music to Medicine for the response. I wasn't sure if they were waiting for those who were accepted to accept before notifying others. Sounds like that is not the case. To crp1991, this person checked the status online and it said admission rejected or something like that. It was pretty rough to see it.
  7. Unfortunately, no. This person had a few classes in progress, but otherwise great recs and grades. To those of you who already received calls, do you accept right away or do you get a few weeks to decide?
  8. I guess my alphabetical theory is proved wrong :) I had a friend who heard about Baltimore today and was rejected. Very sad. But at least we know the wait doesn't necessarily mean bad news. Obviously they have a lot of people to call and it will likely take at least a few more days.
  9. i haven't heard yet either-- wondering if it's alphabetical? my last name begins with "W". i am sure we will all hear by the end of the week.
  10. congrats to those who have heard!! i still have not seen a status change online nor received a phone call. good luck to everyone!
  11. Thanks!
  12. Hi everyone, I am wondering about the merit scholarships. Grey Lady, or any current or past students, do you happen to know about the criteria for receiving one or how many are given out? Are these full scholarships or partial? Many thanks! Sarah
