UMHB Fall 2016 (Mary Hardin Baylor)

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey y'all. Anyone know anything about UMHB nursing program besides that it's an expensive private school? I need to know if the tuition is worth it in the case that I'm accepted to their program. Also feel free to share your stats or any information you've heard about the program.

I've applied to Texas State, UTMB, UTTyler, Sam Houston, and Baylor.

I have taken the TEAS, HESI, and Kaplan!

Oh wow that's crazy, well hopefully we get good news soon. Have you been accepted anywhere else? I wanted to apply at Baylor but still not sure yet

Nope, I'm still waiting for an acceptance somewhere :/

You guys seem to be a little bit more lively on this forum. I applied to UMHB as well as UTA. I was waitlisted at UTA. I hold a bachelors in physiology and I have a 3.3 gpa overall and scored a 78 on the Kaplan. I've heard that 25% of their students already hold bachelors so I'm hoping my odds are good! I just need to take public speaking this summer. I was also told by Stacy that it would be mid April so I'm guessing maybe sometime the week of April 11th we should know something. That's just a guess! Good Luck everyone, it sounds like everyone stats should be good to go :)

It's been hard finding anyone on this site who's applied to UMHB honestly, and there's not much on the previous threads to go off of. :/ but anyways I applied at UTA as well for the spring 2017 semester. I have competitive teas scores and HESI scores but my GPA is what is holding me back. I have a 3.3 and my science GPA is only a 3.0 so I'm an average B student in science. It's a frustrating situation to be in, but I'm trying to stay positive! I won't give up that's for sure. I was just waitlisted at my current school, so idk how to feel about that either since I don't know much about the waitlist or if there is a ranking to it.

I've heard UMHB isn't as competitive (most likely because it is expensive), I've heard a couple say they had friends who didn't do well in an ADN program and had no trouble getting into UMHB. We will see. I am in the same boat GPA wise, we have similar GPA's so we will see what happens. I think UMHB though might take more into account than just GPA based off of their application.

Hopefully we will find out soon!

UTA and any other school in or around Dallas from what I've heard is hard to get into so I didn't have high hopes for UTA.

I called the school today and asked by when we should be hearing a response and the lady told me the committee met today and letters should be going out Monday morning!

Nice!! Now, I'm super nervous. lol. Hopefully everyone gets in!

ME TOO!!! WOO HOO!! Congratulations ya'll!!

Me too I'm so excited!

Are you guys going the 26th or 27th for orientation?
