Hi! Is anyone trying to move to the city in January? I'm going to be starting the BSN program and am looking for a roommate. I plan on moving into a townhouse (much cheaper than the apartments!) with another nursing student. It's in a really safe area and a 5-10 minute walk from the school. If you think you might be interested and want to know more details, let me know!

I too am waiting to hear about decisions for RN to BSN. I called Monday and was told decisions would be released by November 23rd. I mentioned that registration was on November 21st and was told there would be plenty of time to register.

I emailed yesterday and got a response saying that they still have not made the RN-BSN decisions! She also said that we would get notification by postal mail, but no phone calls.

I haven't actually checked SURFS today. Have you gotten an update?

I check SURFS today.. not update as of 2 pm. I called yesterday and I asked when the decisions would be made and was told "I don't know."

That's comforting, eh? I'm not too concerned about registration, but if I didn't get in I need to figure out what my next step is. And if I did get in, I'd love to get an idea of what our schedule will be like!

Congrats to everyone that got accepted

As far as the background checks goes do we need to do the drug testing as well and if we attending the shady grove campus for UMB which college are we checkin in the drop box.

Also does anyone know what building the orientations at shady grove are being held?

Hi. I'm new to the blog, although I have been following for awhile but never posted. I've been checking SURFS several times a day, with no update, still Committee Ready! I also called the Admissions Office yesterday & was told they still have not made any decisions regarding the RN-BSN candidates. They would not clarify further about a possible decision date. I was informed we would be notified via mail or to keep checking SURFs.

Does anyone know what their admittance rate is for the RN-BSNs?

Good Luck to all of the other RN-BSN candidates!

You should not be doing the background check and drug test now. You will be given instructions on how to do that (and there is only one approved vendor) at Orientation. All you need to do now is send in the background notification form which indicates your understanding that you will be required to do one. For Orientation, you will receive an invitation from the Universities at Shady Grove to Orientation the morning of January 12. That part is all about the campus and resources available to all Shady Grove students. The rest of that day and all of the next day are specifically for the nursing students. The campus is quite compact - believe me, you will have no trouble finding where you need to be but it will be spelled out in the invitation. Feel free to visit campus any time you like except during the holidays. Also take a look at the Universities at Shady Grove website. Looking forward to meeting you!
